Dearparticipants,dearcolleagues!AsthetwochairsoftheOrganizingCommitteefromRussiaofthe23thInternationalCongressPHYTOPHARM2019,wearepleasedtowelcomeyoutosaint‐Peptersburg!Ever since the first Phytopharm conference in 1990, it has become one of theimportant events of the year in Phytopharmaceutical Science, aiming to presentinteresting, state‐of‐the‐art research relevant to professionals working in variousfields of herbal medicinal plants and natural product research, and to fosternetworking and collaboration across the globe and building bridges between EastandWest.Thisyear,participantsfrom21countries,haveacceptedourinvitationandhavecometoRussia.The scientific program of PHYTOPHARM covers natural product research fromphytochemicalstudies,safety,efficacyandqualityaspectsuntilphytotherapeuticandotherhealthrelatedapplications.Theaimofthecongressistoserveasaforumfordiscussions on trends, and the latest results, and to exchange ideas relating tophytochemical analysis, ethnopharmacology, natural product research, TraditionalChinese Medicine, pharmacology and clinical trials of natural products as well asbiotechnology.Intotal,105posters,15plenary,and47shortlectureswillbepresentedduringthethreedaysof thecongress. Inadditiontoplenary lectures–6parallelsessionswillallow an appreciable number of participants to present results in oral talks –featuringonespecialyoungresearchsessioneachday.Thepostersessionsatcentraltime frames within the congress will also provide an opportunity for scientificdiscussions.Thepostersaredisplayedthroughoutthewholeconference.Many people have contributed in the preparation and the organization of thiscongress.
