The people celebrate the feast

with family and friends.

On Christmas eve, there is a

tradition for children.

Children have a piece of log and

hit the log with a stick, suddenly

presents appear under the log.

This tradition has a name “Cagar

el Tio”.

The children hit it and sing

songs.

Is on 25th of December.

On this day, I celebrate Christmas with

my family and we have a big lunch, we

eat good food and sweets. A typical

dessert is “Torrons”, this is a Catalan

dessert.

The houses are decorated with lights,

candles, Christmas trees and Christmas

decorations.

Some people go to church at night on

Christmas day because there is a special

mass called “La missa del Gall”.

In the mass people sing christmas

songs.

This day is special for children

because children get a lot of

presents.

In Spain we have three kings,

and they bring presents.

In my village, the kings arrive in

boats, in the river there’s music,

songs and rockets.

They also walk along the streets

and give sweets to the children.

I like the nativity scene in my village

because everybody participates in it.

People dress in different ways,

representing the scenes.

There are demons, angels and the

scene of Jesus birth.

All the scenes are situated in the old

part of the village and near the

bridge and the river.

It is a cold night but it is very

beautiful.
