EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP – EFFECTIVE, PRODUCTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT In the past 7 years Extraordinary Leadership has worked with commercial and non-governmental organisations across all business sectors in Europe, India, the USA and Africa at the individual, team and organisational levels. Our work increases performance and productivity by releasing the potential of an organisation’s most valuable resource - its people, without whose energy and commitment there would be no success. We do this by increasing levels of trust and cooperation, communication and openness, engagement and empowerment, creativity and innovation, and accountability. We do this through the innovative and experiential application of tools, techniques and models from a broad range of psychological disciplines, mindfulness / presencing techniques, sports performance psychology, neurophysiology, NLP and leadership performance coaching. We work with senior individuals; board, executive, and leadership teams; large and small organisations as a whole. Our work is particularly valuable in the following circumstances:

1. Where a team or organisation has a change of leadership 2. Where an organisation is undergoing significant change, e.g. rapid growth,

reorganisation, merger or acquisition, following efficiency-driven downsizing or re-structuring

3. Where a team has been together for some time and needs revitalising and re-energising

4. In small/start-up businesses where growth or rapid change requires a shift in culture, especially where the respect for and authority of the founder is actually acting as a brake on potential and creativity, or where there is a need to bring in outside management at a senior level.

WHAT MAKES EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP UNIQUE? Development not Training There is no “one way” to lead positively and effectively – just as we are all unique human beings, so or most powerful leadership is unique. This means that it is not possible to “train” people in leadership in the way that one would train people in how to do a task or in the principles of financial management, for example. Our methodology ensures that we create a conceptual and experiential frame of reference in which each individual is able to discover, explore and develop his and her own uniquely powerful form of leadership. This also has the benefit of creating a common understanding of leadership and a common language of leadership when we are working at the team and organisational levels – an understanding that liberates individuals’ leadership potential rather than restricting it to and directing it down particular, pre-set channels. Comprehensive and Holistic - Individual to Organisation Clients have told us that our work is able to provide the most comprehensive leadership development programmes they have experienced. This is because:

• We do not concentrate on one aspect or one “style” of leadership – we use a vast range of psychological models and tools adapted to the audience, the organisational culture and goals and the broader business and social environments

• Whether we are working with individuals, teams or organisations, we always start with how an individual leads themselves before we look at leading others, groups and teams – this means that the leadership learnings are fully integrated at all levels

• Our work involves all four dimensions of the human being- physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – this means that each individual and team and organisational develops the optimal, fully holistic way.

Customisation We do not provide a “cookie-cutter”, “training-process” approach to our work. We work in depth and in detail with our clients to ensure that our work is fully aligned with their commercial needs and cultural goals at the same time as providing the proven efficacy and benefits of our core activities. Customisation does not stop with design and delivery of our programme. Pre-existing systems for determining the impact and value of our intervention – the RoI – are only partly effective at best. We work with our clients and participants to determine the positive human, financial and productivity benefits of our interventions. Sustainability Basing our work in individual participant psychology means that developments at the group, team and organisational level are founded on the firmest of foundations – at the level of people’s purpose, identity, beliefs and values. This assures far greater sustainability than courses that concentrate only on the level of knowledge, skills and capabilities. Partnership The development of high-performance leaders, high-performance teams and leadership teams and a high-performance organisational culture is not achieved by a one-off intervention. It is an on-going, iterative journey that must be checked and adjusted to results and demands of time, place, people, goals and culture. As you can see below, we are expert at working in partnership with our clients to provide true strategic value. THE PRINCIPLES OF EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP • We are all unique individuals – the way you lead most effectively will differ from the way

others lead • The quality of your Leadership is determined by the quality of your Awareness of and

your ability to Connect with yourself and others to enable the Transformations you seek (the ACT of leadership)

• Leadership beyond the very basics cannot be “trained” – it must be developed by each individual through their own personalities

• Knowledge and skills are not enough – for sustainable behavioural change, leadership must be addressed experientially at the level of values, beliefs, and purpose

• All leadership begins with leadership of self – the ability to “… keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, and blaming it on you!”

• True leadership integrates the leader’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions

• Leading others is about enabling, not doing • Leaders at all levels need to be empowered to respond to events as they occur with

confidence and accountability (“Distributed Leadership” in a “VUCA” – Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous - world surrounded by “Wicked Problems”)

HOW WE CREATE HIGH-PERFORMING LEADERSHIP TEAMS When a group of people come together as a “team” the important stages of “storming” (working out the power structure and affiliations within the group) and “norming” (establishing how we behave and interact with each other) happens by default on the basis of individuals’ emotional and psychological (“ego”) needs - it has little or nothing to do with the purpose and maximal functioning of the group as a team! This retreat “re-storms” and “re-norms” the team through an intentional focus on the team’s purpose and the behaviours needed for it to perform most efficiently and effectively to meet its goals - i.e. to become a High Performing Team. Successful relationships in teams, as elsewhere, always begin with self-leadership on the part of the team members. We then look at optimising how everyone interacts with each other to achieve the team purpose. Then, on the basis of agreed values that drive the desired, high-performance behaviours, the team generates interpersonal “contracting” and “Rules of Engagement” to provide sustainability in their on-going journey of performance development. All our workshops are based on the experiential exploration of key concepts, capabilities and actions. They are lively, fun and highly interactive. Each participant explores their individual experience of each element of leadership, which is then shared in pairs or small groups and developmental actions identified and practised. Workshop Structure and Content Every team is a unique organism, just as all of a team’s members are unique. The form and detail that emerges during a session is also unique to the time, place and people of the team, its goals and objectives, and the concerns, issues and questions that arise during the course of our exploration and discovery. Our experience has shown that a three-part programme is optimal for the full creation or revitalisation of the team, followed by a “Leadership in Action” day to help embed the learnings in team member’s experience of their day-to-day world. One-to-one coaching can also beneficial for team members in the subsequent months. Part one focuses on self-leadership: what are my purpose and values and how well do I live them – and what gets in the way? It includes mental and neurophysiological tools for reducing fear (a.k.a. stress, tension) and accessing presence, flow, the zone (often referred to in current trends as "mindfulness") all leading to increase the ACT of leadership - Awareness, Connection and Transformation - for self and others. If you cannot lead yourself, how can you influence others or be a productive member of a team? Having established this firm foundation, part two looks at building the capacity for open, productive, adult-to-adult interactions with others with emotional intelligence, trust, delegation and feedback, before moving on to creating and maintaining high performance teams and the development of your own, specific “Rules of Engagement”. Part three applies these new learnings and understandings to the specific cultural and operational needs of the team. This often involves reviewing Purpose, Vision, Values and Mission at the individual, unit and team levels before addressing specific performance-determining issues. The team workshop is usually preceded by 1 hour interviews with key personnel. SENIOR INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE COACHING Extraordinary leadership cannot be learned second hand. It must be experienced, and that experience must take place in all the dimensions of a human’s being – mental, physical, emotional and spiritual – through whole-being engagement. Within the framework of our comprehensive 3-Dimensional Leadership Model, we use all and any of the available

performance coaching and psychological resources. A typical programme will include, but not be limited to:

• Integration of professional and personal goals and objectives • Management of fear and stress for self and others • Change management, prioritisation and resource allocation • Managing others through accessing and maintaining an A2A perspective • Handling conflict and enjoying constructive challenge • Personal leadership branding • Emotional Intelligence, Values and Personality • Leadership styles through various models • 3-Dimensional Leadership • Increasing the quality of Awareness, Connection and Transformation • In-time issue coaching

THE EXTRAORDINARY PERSONAL LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE PLAN In sport, a professional sportsperson trains, clarifies personal aims and objectives, devises a strategic approach and game plan – plays – reviews performance with a coach (often with video evidence), trains, re-clarifies … In business, an individual will play, play and play again with little or no training and nothing but the most cursory and subjective performance review. In this programme we work with the leader to develop a customised plan that links their desired changes in the leadership behaviours to specific, tangible and measurable business outcomes in productivity for themselves, their people and their organisation. THE EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP JOURNEY In this programme we accompany you to powerful new environments. Stripped of your status, your power, the hierarchical deference of those in your organisation, your cultural reference points, your emotional shields and physical home comforts, what kind of a leader will you be then? How will you lead when you teach young and teenage orphans? How will you work with the teachers and support workers? What difference can you make to a low-resource, high performance community? On this journey you will access dimensions of yourself that are inaccessible in your everyday life. Supported by daily one-to-one coaching, you will re-connect with yourself and others at a deeper level than is otherwise possible. You will transform your leadership capabilities and the performance of yourself and your people on your return home.

EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP: CURRENT AND PAST CLIENT

“We understand that leadership development is not an overnight fix but a journey and one which requires the organisation, participants and Extraordinary Leadership to work in partnership to deliver the right environment and input for learning. Extraordinary Leadership share this philosophy and have been a “true” partner investing in the development of our current and future leaders. The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive with people often citing these programmes as the best they have ever attended” EVP HR, Telecommunication ¨Extraordinary Leadership has been an enormous help to our business ... has helped transform our senior management team within one of our largest divisions, from a group of underperforming individuals into the highest performing leadership team within our organisation. Without this help we would not be where we are today as a business¨ VP, International Recruitment

“Jefferson has worked with me, key team members and annual group sessions for the last two years - it has helped:

- clarify what I personally want out of the business and the work I do, it's purpose, culture and how to get the best from the team

- help to make it happen by enabling people to be highly engaged; this has freed me up to do more of what I enjoy and what I'm good at.

In the two years since working with Jeff, things have significantly changed for the better in terms of financials and culture.” Founder, owner and CEO, International Retail Tea Company
