ORCA IIA sewage treatment systems are U.S. Coast Guard/IMO andEC Certified. The ORCA IIA is a Type II physical/chemical marinesanitation device (MSD) utilizing 5% chlorine solution for disinfectionand is designed specifically for marine applications. The ORCA IIA isequipped with a solid-state microprocessor control and monitoringsystem which automatically controls the treatment of sewage, warnsof any shutdown, and pinpoints any malfunctions. The ORCA IIAoperates on demand only…therefore the system draws power onlywhen treatment is needed. The treatment process is simple anddesigned to be sludge free.

Process Description
ORCACLOR is an electrolytic device that produces chlo-rine from sea water. Chlorinated water is produced to dis-infect the sewage in the treatment tank. ORCACLOR isdesigned to supplement the existing bleach tank. If seawater is temporarily unavailable, the marine sanitationdevice operation can continue with the use of the bleachtank. The ORCACLOR is installed in the backwash waterpipe leading to the marine sanitation device. Chlorine isproduced based on the cell current and backwash waterflow rate. The ORCACLOR is controlled by the MSD toautomatically produce chlorine on demand.

Transfer Kits for ORCA’s
There are certain applications which require the installationof a system to transfer sewage to the ORCA. A collectiontank (shipyard supplied) may be needed to control the flowof sewage to the ORCA IIA unit. This system automaticallytransfers the correct amount of sewage to the ORCA forprocessing.
The ENVIROVAC transfer kit consists of:• Grinder pump (connected to the ship’s black water
holding tank)
Sea Water DemandSea water flow rate of 12-35 GPM (0.76-2.2 l/s).Maximum pressure of 40 psi (275 kPa) forORCAIIA-24/36/70

Vacuum Collection Holding Transfer systems are designed towork in conjunction with ORCA equipment. For ships, theEVAC 1.2 liter flush toilet is available in either deck or bulkheadmounted designs. Vacuum toilets are made of vitreous china orstainless steel.
The EVAC vacuum collection system is designed to utilizeeither sewage powered ejectors or vacuum pumps to createvacuum. Benefits of vacuum collection compared to gravitysystems are the reduction in sewage volume, smaller pipingand vertical lift capability. Vacuum piping allows flexibility in therouting of pipes and is not affected by the pitch and roll of thevessel.
Over 6,500 vacuum systems are currently installed in cargocarriers, cruise ships, destroyers, ferries, freighters, frigates, gambling vessels, mine hunters, patrol vessels, work boats, and yachts of all shapes and sizes.
The ENVIROVAC Small Vessel System (SVS) is a sewage collection systemwhich uses a rotary vane vacuum pump and vacuum tank. The SVS is designedspecifically to function with a small ORCA or on top of a larger holding tank. TheSVS has a 50 gallon holding tank and is designed for black water collection only. The SVS is currently available in 440/3/60, 208/3/60, 380/3/50 and 220/1/60standard power configurations.
