One of the main traditions in Sweden is Midsommar, which means in the middle of the summer. Midsommar is celebrated around 24th June and it is always when the day is just as long as the night (solstice).

People dance around a midsummer pole and sing songs. They also make flower crowns and put them on their heads. Some people like to collect seven different sorts of flowers and to put them under their pillow. Then they will dream about their future husband/wife.

Hungarian people have got a lot of folklore traditions in their country. You may know Easter, Christmas, Carnival time and Whitsuntide. Recently there has been All Souls' Day, as well.

In their city there is Budapesti Búcsú (Farewell in Budapest) on the 30thJune which is the Day of Freedom. It's a two-day-long cultural music festival and it symbolizes the beginning of summer, as well. The last Soviet soldiers left Hungary on that day in 1991. It was a very important event in their history because their country had been occupied by them since 1945.

PortugalOur main traditions are related to the Catholic religion, like Christmas, Easter, St Jonh’s Day, St Peter’s Day…

In Chamusca we have got a very important tradition “Ascensão”.

Ascensão happens fourty days after Easter and it represents the ascension of Jesus Christ towards heaven. It is always celebrated on a Thursday.

We have some bullfights, concerts, performances and a lot of fun.
