“Living Lives for Christ” Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost
“Moses and his helpers could make all the furnishings and clothing. Moses could consecrate the priests. But
there was one thing that no man including Moses could do, and that was to command the presence of God:
to summon the Shekinah Glory into the holy of holies! Now God was ready to accomplish that. Israel had
been redeemed from Egypt. Israel had been given the Ten Commandments. Israel had entered into
covenant with God. The tabernacle had been built and assembled. The priests had been consecrated.
Then-and only then-all was in order for the Lord to take up His residence in the Tabernacle which was in
the center of the camp of Israel. The glory of God descended and filled the Tabernacle. The book of
Exodus ends and what an ending it is!” – Bernard L. Ramm
“It was the Lord’s ‘dwelling’, to which he came in all his holiness. The ‘dwelling’ was a tent, for the Lord
came close, identifying himself with his people’s circumstances and taking up his residence at the heart of
their nomadic life.” – J. A. Motyer
I WANT TO REMEMBER THIS...

Stephen Ministry Training
Stephen Minister training is an
engaging, energizing experience that
includes a mixture of lecture, video,
group discussion, skill practice, and
spiritual growth activities.
“The Best 50 Hours of Training You'll
Ever Experience!”
Here’s why Stephen Ministers frequently say that
about their training:
Stephen Minister training teaches principles and
skills that equip you to provide high-quality,
Christ-centered emotional and spiritual care to
others.
You gain insight into the thoughts, feelings, and
actions of people who are hurting.
You develop relational and caring skills you can
apply to all aspects of your life.
You deepen your faith as the Holy Spirit fashions
you into a Christ-centered caregiver.
You feel a special bond with those in your
class—experiencing real Christian community.
Stephen Minister training is a lot of fun!
Stephen Ministry at St. Luke will begin around
November. If you are ready to become a Stephen
Minister and start your training, please turn in
your application to Kathleen TODAY!!
EVERY SEASON OF LIFE BRINGS
NEW CHALLENGES ...
How can you wisely plan your finances so your
priorities will be funded both during and after your
lifetime? Those priorities may change as you cycle
through the seasons of life — marriage, growing
family, empty nest, grandchildren, retirement…
Do you have the information, financial tools, and
guidance you need to make the best possible
decisions?
Sign up by October 9th at the Information
Center to join us for lunch on Sunday, October 16th.
We will be featuring some of the questions you may
be facing right now and some of the answers you
may be seeking. This information-sharing luncheon
is brought to you by the St. Luke Endowment Fund.
Childcare will be provided.
