Design.Simply strong.

It is Europe's strongest luffing jib crane. And the star ofour "Heavy Lifter" series. A unique pendular counter-ballast system reduces the torque on the tower of theWT 2405L e.tronic. The pendular ballast ensures the jibhas the correct tension. And since stability is not aminor matter, the cross-section of the jib is rectangularrather than triangular.

Modular system.For all eventualities.

The WT 2405L e.tronic's cleverly designed modularsystem can match the jib length to the task in hand –from 36 m to 78 m. Things really take off when youchoose the 5 m runner head (fly jib) – at a maximum jiblength of 83 m, a load of up to 8 t can be lifted at aspeed of up to 140 m per minute. The slewing unit canbe assembled on the 3.3 m wide tower elements, whichhave a standard length of 5m. As far as the base element is concerned, flexibility reigns – foundation anchors as well as stationary and mobile elements areavailable.

The real size of the WT 2405L e.tronic is demonstratedby its maximum freestanding tower height of 65 m, rea-lised with standard tower elements. Higher freestandingunder hook heights are possible with special tower ele-ments. Just ask!

Assembly.Solutions at their best.

The WT 2405L e.tronic also shows how useful it is if sections can be disconnected. By removing just a few pins, the units are easily separated to achieve lower assembly weights if required. Moreover, hydraulic cylinders simplify the setting and extraction of the pins.The well-placed erection platforms make work easierwherever necessary. What's more, drawing in the hoistand luffing cable by means of an assembly winch isalso "a piece of cake".

Operator cab.A place in the sun.

The spacious, side-mounted operator cab of the WT 2405L e.tronic is ergonomically designed and af-fords the crane operator clear visibility through 9 wind-ows. It also features a touch screen panel whichprovides him with all the important data he requires – inthe language of his choice, of course. Safety is not theonly aspect we attach great importance to, but com-fort, too – this is shown clearly by the control panel tomanage all cabin functions, the generous storagespace, heating, large number of sockets and rollerblinds, as well as interior lighting and – last but notleast – an ergonomically designed king-size operator'sseat.

Would you rather have luxury than standard? Then ourspacious deluxe operator cab holds many extras instore for you! What about separate toilet facilities witha 200-litre fresh water tank, together with a 250-litrewaste water tank, and wash basin? And how about air-conditioning, visual monitoring of the hoist gear, rupture-proof roof panel with wipers and a 24 V refri-gerator?

Control.Looking ahead.

The WT 2405L e.tronic is equipped with the e.tronicprogrammable logic control system, featuring 230 Vpowerful relay switches which are rated category AC 4 – so operational wear and tear is not an issuehere. The total connected load is 465 kVA. And because the entire control system is housed in an air-conditioned container, this steadfast worker can with-stand even the most extreme temperatures. The safety-related measuring systems are fitted in duplicate andthus ensure that DIN EN 954/3 is complied with. Sincethe frequency converter controlled absolute encodersare identical for all drives, they are completely inter-changeable. The e.tronic includes an operating rangelimit with 8 polygons of 8 corner point each.

Maintenance.Convenient false floor.

Where's the catch? There isn't one! As the in- and output of the programmable logic control (PLC) are visible on the touch screen panel, identifying the sourceif there is a fault anywhere, is quick and easy. Moreover,the components of the WT 2405L e.tronic are clearlyset out in the electrics container. All cables are laidunder a false floor – so there is no danger of tripping.The built-in telephone ensures a line of communicationbetween container and cab.
