Characteristics of Effective Learning
Brooke started off quite shy at school and her confidence has soared throughout the year as she has allowed herself to be
challenged and perseveres through any difficulties she comes across. She is now confident to speak to others and try new
things. She is happy to talk to the class about her learning, planning what she will do and evaluating it by describing the
activities and what she had to do and thinking about how she would change and adapt it if she were to do it again. She takes
any feedback given to her and tries her best to apply it to her work next time. She is a helpful member of the class who is
always thinking of others and will help any child who gets stuck by problem solving and thinking of a solution. She has high
engagement levels and will see an activity through to the end; if she runs out of time she will return to it later to finish it off.
Brooke is always proud of her achievements and enjoys being able to share these.
