The campaign was founded by Tanya “The Writer” Williams, a singer, songwriter and music professional with a passion for serving the community. For the past 10 years, Williams has worked with a long list of indie artists and major artists, song-writers, producers and executives. Williams also offers a unique story of survival. She survived the death of her sister to murder, single parenting, homelessness, poverty, depression

and the death of her mother to cancer in 2010 – only to be revived by the therapy of words & songs!

The Power of MusicRobert E. Allen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, AT&T Corporation, “grounding in the arts will help our children to see; to bring a uniquely human perspective to science and technology. In short, it will help them as they grow smarter to also grow wiser.”

Daniel A. Carp, Eastman Kodak Company Chairman and CEO believes, “Music is one way for young people to connect with themselves, but it is also a bridge for connecting with others. Through music, we can introduce children to the richness and diversity of the human family.”

According to Ted Turner, “Music has a great power for bringing people together. With so many forces in this world acting to drive wedges between people, it’s important to preserve those things that help us experience our common humanity.”
