Plainville (18-1) was the No. 1 seed in the tournament while Oberlin (8-11) was No. 8. Plainville went on to beat Ellis but lost to the No. 2 seed Ness City in the championship. Oberlin started off well, outscoring the Car- dinals 13-11 in the first quarter. Then it was all downhill, as Plainville came back to outscore Oberlin 18-9, 22-7 and 17-9 in the last three quarters. Scoring for Oberlin were Zach May 13, Dalton Jones 10, Shane McEvoy 6, Tyler Bruggeman 4, Tyler Shields 3 and Kennedy Fortin 2. Coach Joe Dreher was named the Regional Coach of the Year by the regional wrestling coaches after the Oberlin wrestlers won the regional tournament in Lakin. Oberlin also won the first tourna- ment of the season in Cambridge, Neb. The Red Devils took second in the Franklin, Neb., tournament and the Western Kansas Tournament of Champions in Smith Center, They came in third at the Oberlin Invita- tional tournament, fourth in Beloit and fifth at the Class 3-2-1A state tournament, with six contenders and three placers. The team finished the season 9-5 in dual meets, beating Legend and Eagle Crest from Colorado, Hutchinson, Liberal and McCook. The team took the league dual championship with victories over Hoxie, St. Francis and Atwood. Senior Brent Juenemann recorded his 100th high school win and took fifth at the state tournament. Sophomore Dayton Dreher took third and senior Jeff Shaw fourth at state. Juniors Kade Brown and Chan- ning Fortin and freshman Troy Juenemann also won berths at state.     The Decatur Community High Red Devils ended their wrestling season with more wins than losses and top finishes in two tourna-ments.

    Coach Joe Dreher was named the Regional Coach of the Year by the regional wrestling coaches after the Oberlin wrestlers won the regional tournament in Lakin.
