Entry plan for Superintendent Allan Cameron Wrentham Public Schools Objective The objective of this entry plan is to make my transition positive, deliberate, and focused on improving student outcomes and community experiences with Wrentham Public Schools. I am very excited to be a member of this wonderful community that is dedicated to ensuring that all of our students are reflective, life- long learners who are respectful and responsible contributors to a global society. • Attend community events and frequent local restaurants andbusinesses with my family

Goal 2: Understand Wrentham Public Schools

Actions:

• Develop and administer a survey for all staff members,students’ families, and community members regardingthe district’s strengths and areas of growth and ideas forimprovement

• Invite all students, staff members, students’ families, and allother stakeholders to meet and discuss the district

• Meet with PTO and WEST leaders, the Leadership Team,Central Office staff, maintenance staff, and leaders of allunions representing Wrentham Public School employees tolearn their aspirations for Wrentham Public Schools andhow I can support them

• Analyze student learning data from MCAS, DistrictDetermined Assessment Measures (DDMs), and otherassessment measures

• Read all contracts, School Committee policies,strategic goals, curriculum documents, safety plans, school improvement plans, student handbook, capital budget requests/projects, technology plan, bus routes, and other essential documents

• Review the operating budget and the budget developmentprocess

• Review the Wrentham Public Schools online presence

• Ensure Wrentham Public Schools is current with allstudent assessment and staff evaluation information with theDepartment of Elementary and Secondary Education

• Create a schedule for visiting each classroom and learningspace during the school year

The purpose of Goal 2 is to learn about the

people, programs, and performance of Wrentham

Public Schools.

The purpose of Goal 1 is to develop collaborative relationships with the

Wrentham School Committee, Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator,

Chiefs of Police and Fire, Superintendent of the

Department of Public Works, other Town leaders, and

members of the community.

Goal 4: Hire Delaney School Principal and Director of Technology

Actions:

• Identify the characteristics of a successful Delaney School Principal and Director of Technology

• Advertise the positions on SchoolSpring and other resources

• Establish interview committees comprised of representative stakeholders for both positions

• Interview approximately 10 candidates for both positions

• Recommend up to 3 candidates for both positions as finalists

• Complete reference checks, site visits, and additional interviews to identify successful candidates

• Announce the successful candidates during spring of 2015

• New leaders begin working in Wrentham on July 1, 2015

The purpose of Goal 4 is to recruit and secure

exceptional leaders with the knowledge and skills to help advance the mission of Wrentham Public Schools.

The purpose of Goal 3 is to identify items requiring

immediate action and short- and long-term goals to

maintain areas of strength and develop areas of growth.

Goal 3: Identify Priorities for District Improvement

Actions:

• Analyze, with the Leadership Team, all data gathered through surveys and interviews and synthesize specific and measurable goals

• Prioritize goals for immediate attention and short- or long-term action

• Take action on items requiring immediate attention

• Develop and implement action plans, timelines, and assessment measures to achieve the short- and long-term term goals

• Share data collected through surveys and interviews, items for immediate action, short- and long-term goals, action plans, timeline, and assessment measures with all stakeholders

Summary

The vision of Wrentham Public Schools, in partnership with families and the community, is to educate the whole child, ensuring academic success while developing individual talents and skills. I am committed to this vision and will work diligently to provide the safe, supportive, and structured environment necessary for success.
