WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.
Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God
and in loving memory of Dr. Stacy Hammond Story IV and Mr. George W. Cross by their family.
To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.
As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

Lift thine eyes to the mountains, whence cometh help;Thy help cometh from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and earth. He hath said, thy foot shall not be moved, Thy keeper will never slumber.

†The Confession of Faith ........................................................... Heidelberg Catechism
Q. 69 How does holy baptism remind and assure you that Christ’s one sacrifice on the cross benefits you personally?A. In this way: Christ instituted this outward washing and with it promised that, as surely as water washes away the dirt from the body, so certainly his blood and his Spirit wash away my soul’s impurity, that is, all my sins.
Q. 74 Should infants also be baptized?A. Yes. Infants as well as adults are included in God’s covenant and people, and they, no less than adults, are promised deliverance from sin through Christ’s blood and the Holy Spirit who produces faith. Therefore, by baptism, the sign of the covenant, they too should be incorporated into the Christian church and distinguished from the children of unbelievers. This was done in the Old Testament by circumcision, which was replaced in the New Testament by baptism.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ..................................................... Hosea 2:19-20And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the Lord.
The Corporate Confession of SinAlmighty God, merciful Father, every time we rebel against your just rule in ourlives we enslave ourselves to the tyranny of guilt and sin. We exchange freedom for bondage; health for sickness of soul. We are left miserable. Forgive us, we pray. We have not lived out the new reality of life in Christ. We have not understood the power of the gospel that brings forgiveness and a new reality. We pray that you enlighten our minds, transform our hearts, strengthen our wills so that the power of Christ’s resurrection will make us new people, enslaved to nothing but the glorious freedom of Christ. Amen.
The Personal Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)
The Response—Our Children, Lord, In Faith and Prayer .................................... Azmon
(Sung by all)Our children, Lord, in faith and prayer,We now devote to thee;Let them thy covenant mercies share,And thy salvation see.
Such helpless babes thou didst embrace,While dwelling here below; To us and ours, O God of grace,The same compassion show.
In early days their hearts secure,From worldly snares, we pray;O let them to the end endureIn every righteous way.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Offertory—All Things Bright and Beautiful ...................................... John Rutter
Words: Cecil Alexander | Music: John Rutter | ©1983 Oxford University Press
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small; All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings; He made their glowing colors, he made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain, the river running by,The sunset and the morning, that brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun,The ripe fruits in the garden, he made them every one.
He gave us eyes to see them and lips that we might tellHow great is God Almighty, who has made all things well!

Offertory—Valley of the Dry Bones ..................................................................... Card
Words and Music: Michael Card | ©1992 Bridwing Music and BMG Songs, Inc.
Behold a valley filled with bonesBones on every sideA valley vast, the floor so fullOf bones so very dry
The Lord did ask, can these bones live?Might these bones rise once more? What else was I to say but you alone can tell, O Lord
A legion now aliveA resurrected armyA living, holy host Of a people born again
Then prophesy, O son of manCry out to this dead hordeAnd when they come to life againThey’ll know I am the Lord
And as I spoke what I was toldThere came a rattling soundAs bone to bone they formed a mass Of bodies on the ground
Your dead will come aliveTheir graves will lie abandonedAnd all those dwelling in the dust Will wake and shout for joy
And then I called upon the windsUpon these slain to breatheAt once they stood upon their feetA mighty, vast army
