Welcome
Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God with
great thanksgiving. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.—Psalm 100:5
The King’s Brass Tim Zimmerman, director
To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An Elder and his wife will be standing next to the pastor following the service to talk or pray with you.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available to assist you.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. Leaders will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms before the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We provide a Mother/Infant Room (room 109) located in the wing behind the sanctuary and to the left, and the Geneva Room is designated as a Cry Room for parents with fussy children, equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.
As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me; Let us exalt his name together.
The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!
When Israel was in Egypt’s land, let my people go!Oppressed so hard they could not stand, let my people go!
Go down, Moses, ’way down in Egypt’s land,Tell old Pharaoh to let my people go!
Thus saith the Lord, bold Moses said, “Let my people go!If not, I’ll smite your first born dead; let my people go!”

(Sung by all)Jesus loves me, this I know,For the Bible tells me so.Little ones to him belong; They are weak but he is strong.
Jesus loves me, he who died,Heaven’s gates to open wide.He will wash away my sin;Let his little child come in.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!Yes, Jesus loves me!The Bible tells me so.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ........................................................ Isaiah 55:6-7Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Almighty God, merciful Father, every time we rebel against your just rule in ourlives we enslave ourselves to the tyranny of guilt and sin. We exchange freedom for bondage; health for sickness of soul. We are left miserable. Forgive us, we pray. We have not lived out the new reality of life in Christ. We have not understood the power of the gospel that brings forgiveness and a new reality. We pray that you enlighten our minds, transform our hearts, strengthen our wills so the power of Christ’s resurrection will make us new people, enslaved to nothing but the glorious freedom of Christ. Amen.

*‡The PeaceThe peace of the Lord be with you always.
And also with you.
Nearer, my God, to thee; nearer to thee. E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,Still all my song shall be: Nearer, my God, to thee!
Then, with my waking thoughts, bright with thy praise;Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise,So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to thee.
Or if on joyful wing cleaving the sky,Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly;Still all my song shall be: Nearer, my God, to thee!

Offertory—I Asked the Lord ...............................................................Newton, Taylor
Words: John Newton 1779, alt. Laura Taylor. | Music: Laura Taylor. | ©2004 double v music
I asked the Lord that I might grow In faith and love and every grace Might more of his salvation know And seek more earnestly his face
Twas he who taught me thus to pray And he I trust has answered prayer But it has been in such a way As almost drove me to despair
I hoped that in some favored hour At once he’d answer my request And by his love’s constraining power Subdue my sins and give me rest
Instead of this he made me feel The hidden evils of my heart And let the angry powers of hell Assault my soul in every part
Lord, why is this, I trembling cried Wilt thou pursue thy worm to death? “Tis in this way,” the Lord replied “I answer prayer for grace and faith”
“These inward trials I employ From self and pride to set thee free And break thy schemes of earthly joy That thou mayest seek thy all in me, That thou mayest seek thy all in me.”
