The July Update on the Dowdy’s

Much has happened since I wrote my last update in the newsletter. Shortly before the time we spent in Kansas

and Nebraska, a contract was signed on our home in Huntingdon and almost simultaneously, after looking at

several homes, we were able to find a new home in Harrisonburg, VA and signed that contract. Presently we

are securing a moving company to help us make the move. They will load up our household goods on Monday,

July 31 and we will close on our home in Huntingdon on August 1. We hope to close on the house in

Harrisonburg on the next day. I will probably be taking a few days of vacation during that week as we make that

transition. Following the move of our household items to Harrisonburg, we will to live in a vacant home of a

member of Stone Church. We are just finalizing those plans as I write.

One other note, I will use the last few days of August (28-31) as vacation in order that we can move

permanently to Harrisonburg following Christy’s last Sunday, August 27. We continue to ask for your prayers as

we all move into this transition.

God’s blessings to you!

Pastor Dale

FINANCE AND FACILITY FINANCE Income - Our current income through week 24 (June 11) is doing well despite a temporary drop on Picnic Day causing both Total and Giving income to drop slightly below 100 percent of budget plan. This shortfall required moving $3,500 from our holding fund to cover weekly expenses. Expenses - April and May have seen an increase in budgeted expenses as expected and at the end of May we are at 39 percent of our expense budget.

ATTENDANCE Attendance for church service on Picnic Day was 86 and dropped our year to date average from 146 to 143.

FACILITY - Work continues finalizing the new drainage system installed several weeks ago. We have not noticed any roof leaks during the more recent heavy rains. “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 NKJV
