Rome starts and is centered on the Italian Peninsula (modern Italy - the boot)

The central location of Italian peninsula in the western Mediterranean basin creates a natural crossroads for trade and cultural exchange.

Rome is distant from other eastern Mediterranean powers during its early years.

The Mediterranean Sea provides protection and offers ports for trading,

The Alps provide protection from invading land forces,

The Po and Tiber River valleys provide optimum areas for settlement

The five major advantages for Roman civilization(location, location, location!)Click Here

Roman civilization does not have its own religion or mythology at first.

Roman religion is instead based on Greek religion as passed down possibly from Livius Andronicus (a freed Greek slave between 272 to 207 BCE/BC.

Just like Greek gods and goddesses, Roman gods and goddesses provided explanations of natural phenomena, human qualities, and life events

Unlike Greek mythology,Roman mythology influences western symbols, art, architecture, literature, politics, and cultureRomans create multiple additional gods for almost every aspect of daily life)

Let the stealing (I mean cultural diffusion) begin!
