La Fédération Mondiale des Concours Internationaux deMusique représente et défend depuis près de 60 ans lesplus prestigieuses compétitions musicales : piano, chant,instruments à cordes et à vent, musique de chambre,direction d’orchestre, composition ou jazz, autant dedisciplines qui y sont représentées sur les cinq continents.Tous ces concours partagent les mêmes exigencesartistiques et le même but : révéler les nouveaux talentsdont le monde musical a besoin.

La FMCIM est garante de la haute qualité de ses concoursmembres, qui suivent un ensemble de règles communeset s’engagent à tout mettre en œuvre pour le bien desartistes qu’ils révèlent. Elle offre à ses membres unensemble de services précieux et se fait leur porte-paroleau sein de la communauté internationale. En se dotantrécemment d’une nouvelle structure de gouvernance, laFMCIM entend désormais jouer un rôle majeur au sein dumonde des arts et de la culture. Fondée en 1957, la Fédération Mondiale des Concours Internationaux deMusique est l’organisation faîtière des concours de musique du mondeentier, pour lesquels elle établit des critères d’excellence artistique. Au-jourd’hui, la Fédération soutient, encourage et approuve le travail de ses115 membres qui organisent, d’Auckland à Zagreb, des concours danstoutes les disciplines : piano, instruments à cordes et à vent, voix, per-cussions, composition, direction d’orchestre, musique de chambre et jazz.

Les meilleurs concours de musique au monde offrent aux jeunes musi-ciens une tribune pour se faire connaître. Les concours membres de laFédération leur proposent, en plus, les moyens indispensables pour pas-ser facilement du Conservatoire à la Salle de concert. Ils fournissent àleurs jeunes lauréats des outils professionnels pour développer leur car-rière : ils leur offrent des opportunités de concert, leur ouvrent desportes, les aident et les soutiennent.

En 2016, la Fédération Mondiale des Concours Internationaux de Musiquecélèbre un anniversaire particulier. Chaque année, les membres de la Fé-dération se réunissent en Assemblée Générale pour échanger, dialogueret partager de nouvelles idées propres au milieu des concours de mu-sique. Du 15 au 18 juin 2016, la Fédération tient sa 60e Assemblée Gé-nérale à Erevan, en Arménie, à l’invitation du Concours InternationalAram Khatchatourian. C’est l’occasion rêvée pour se pencher sur le futurdes concours de musique classique et de jazz. L’occasion aussi de célébrerd’anciens lauréats et d’accueillir des invités issus du monde profession-nel de la musique. L’occasion enfin de renforcer l’engagement des mem-bres de la Fédération à tout faire pour favoriser l’accomplissementartistique et professionnel des musiciens de demain.

Les concours jouent un rôle vital pour l’avenir de la musique. Ils don-nent l’occasion à tous les publics, présents sur place ou à distance, de dé-couvrir et fêter des lauréats. Les concours sont le couronnement d’annéesde formation : ils permettent à de purs talents de s’affirmer et de naîtreà la vie d’artiste.

Founded in 1957, the World Federation of International Music Competi-tions is the governing body committed to setting the highest standardsof artistic excellence for competitions across the globe. 2016 marks a very special anniversary for the World Federation of In-ternational Music Competitions. Each year, the Federation gathers for itsGeneral Assembly to discuss, debate and share new thinking in the com-petition genre. From 15 to 18 June, the Federation will celebrate its 60thGeneral Assembly in Yerevan, Armenia - home of the Aram KhachaturianInternational Competition. This represents a rare opportunity to look tothe future of classical and jazz music competitions. An opportunity tocelebrate past laureates and to learn from industry guests.
