 TUTOR GROUP: COUNTRY REPRESENTING: During the next few weeks leading up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, your tutor group will be completing a series of tasks based on the Football World Cup. 1. Elect a captain or two to organise your tutor group. They will be in charge of handing in competition entries, allocating tasks and organising the display in the library. 2. Each class must design a logo for their country.

 This should include the name of your class as well as the name of the country. Yourdesign should also include something relevant to your country e.g. the colours of the flag

a national monument, emblem, saying or symbol.

 You can complete your design by hand or on computer. Maximum size is A4.One entry per class.

 These will then be displayed in the library.

MUSIC MATTERS!

Produce a fact file about the music from your country.Here are some things you might want to include:What is the national anthem of your country?Can you find a recording of it? What do you think of it? What do you think of the words?Who are the famous pop stars in your country?Find some of their recordings. What do you think of them?Are there traditional forms of music / types of instrument used in your country?
