163rd Edition 2015 November December Newsletter
Well...it is a new year and another fresh start. The executive board has been working behind the scenes to improve all aspects of the SPRINGS and WORLDS. We hope the new changes are what everyone wants. We are also reaching out to other groups in facebook we have found to post the 2016 events flier. Hopefully we can get a few more entries out of those sites. A lot of these sites just begun this year and we have never been in contact with any of these we will continue in this endeavor. This winter we have lost a couple big pulls with the discontinuation of the Super Pull and the cancellation January pull in Syracuse we are being informed of new events in PA (the Country Line Pullers) one in the Spring and one in the summer. Actually both of these events in the northeast were like one big snowstorm away from a disappointing turnout however they have been successful in the past...There have been a few close calls on both of those events however they have both dodged the bullet for years.
Looking ahead to the SPRINGS as always volunteers drive these events. We thank all of you who have helped out in the past and we absolutely cannot survive without that. We appreciate your help and entries! As the weeks pass by we will be trying to find out how far along the hotel is in their renovation. Some of the moves will not help the event but we will try and use the hotel different to maximize whatever changes are made. We will try and make their changes work for us if we can. We also have to thank Mike Whitis (with some help from Rob Gandy) from RC Pullers only...they have done an awesome job in promoting R/C pulling in the short time they have been on facebook they have gained over 3000 likes and have introduced hundreds of people to our hobby we really appreciate all of that….Just learned that Josh Baumgardener is now a co owner of the site we hope they can continue to be a hobby leader with this site. When Mike started out the RC pullers of Central KY we a small group and now they are the biggest in the nation I am sure the pullers also had a lot to do with that with their events and hard work at the events they have all year long . They do amazing work at the country fairs and get in front of people and these 2 separate entities working together are making huge waves in the hobby world. Thank both of you for
all of that! Mike has also made inroads to a podcast network... the Pulling Radio Network. They cover pulling an more importantly Mike has convinced them to cover R/C pulling that can’t hurt either...wow all that from one guy a SUPER tip of the hat goes out to him! We will be getting interviewed on their show now so stay tuned this should get good.
Still working on a few changes to the racing side we hope that meets with success and with the outreach t o n e w c l u b s a n d organizations maybe we can get few more there. We are doing our best here to get done what we need to.
In closing stay tuned for the new pulls that will be coming up. A new pulling club is going into Rochester and the monster truck challenge is also going on in Rochester, is now a hotbed for what we do. The County Line Pullers pull the 2nd Sat of every month. The CKYRCP is continuing regular pulls, the STPA does monthly pulls in different locations, My club pulls the 1st Sat of every month. That is all I know of for sure. We hope you all have a super new year and hope to see you at some of our events in the upcoming year can’t wait for all of that to start up again.

We have had a successful year in 2015 we had 6 new members that brings the clubs membership to 35, we held 14 pulls in 2015 with an overall average of 127 vehicles per event. We held our annual banquet on Nov 21 in Elizabethtown KY. With 56 Pullers and their families. Dan Marcum was given a plaque thanking him for his long time commitment to Central KY R/C Pullers as one of the organizers and duties preformed as our first Treasure.
Jimmy “Chopper” Doyle was given a plaque thanking him for his drive and commitment as President of Central KY R/C Pullers for the past 2 years.
Our final pull was held on Dec 5 in Glendale KY, it was a benefit “Toys for Tots” pull. Each puller brought 2 toys, one boys and one girls as entry for the pull. Jake Haulman donated a tractor body to raffle as well. We had 27 pullers from Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio and KY, with 146 entries needless to say this was a great success and we are planning on having this every year moving forward. We the officers would like to thank all of our members and guest that participated this year in our events. Thank you all for what you do.
