This workshop will concentrate on your getting images of famous icons in the Taos area. Transportation will be furnished daily for early morning and late afternoon departures. All experience levels are welcome. Bring the book for your camera. Assistance will be offered in basic CS-3 PhotoShop  for those who bring their computer.

Laurie Humble, Watercolor, July 26-30, $560 for five days

Laurie Humble is the author of the best-selling North Light book, Watercolor Depth and Realism. Her watercolors have appeared in more than Fifty National and International Exhibitions garnering numerous awards. She holds signature memberships in nine art and watercolor societies and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Texas State University. 

 Her work was the subject of a feature article, in American Artist Magazine, and has appeared in Southwest Art, and International Artist. Laurie’s work appeared on the cover of the October 2008 issue of Watercolor Artist, accompanied by a feature article. Her work is included in the new book, Splash 10, a North Light publication, as well as the F & W media 2009 calendar.

She conducts workshops across the United States, Internationally, and on the internet.

Gregg Kreutzer, Oil Painting, August 9-13, $790 for five days

An oil painter based in New York City. Gregg teaches at the Art Students League as well as many art schools around the country throughout the year.

He is also the author of Problem Solving for Oil Paintings, an instructional book for artists.

Gregg was a favorite instructor of the former Fechin Institute when it was conducting workshops in Taos

Charlee Shroyer, Navaho Style Weaving, August 16-20, $390 for five days

Charlee’s artistic path to Taos has included twenty years as a weaver of Navajo style woven pillows and rugs as well as ethnic baskets. Her textile work was juried into prestigious American Craft Council shows in Chicago and Columbus.

Exhibits have included shows in Lexington, Kentucky; Reno, Nevada; Naples and the Tampa Bay areas in Florida; Dallas, Texas; and Taos, New Mexico. 

Charlee was awarded a meritorious award by Manhattan Arts International of New York.

Dee Beard Dean , Plein Air, September  13-17, $790 for five days

Dee is nationally recognized for her painterly landscapes and expertise in many media including pastels, watercolors, and oils.  Her eye for color and composition and her elevated senses create paintings filled with evocative light, color and dramatic shadows. 

The founder of the Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, Dee conducts workshops in beautiful locales around the world.  She has won many juried art competitions and is published in regional and national journals.  Her artworks are featured at many fine art galleries around the country. Her new book is  "A Painter by Providence".

This five day Plein Air workshop will emphasis oil painting but artists of other art media are welcome. Primary subject matter will be landscape and architectural painting. Typically each painting session will begin with a short discussion followed by a demonstration of painting techniques by the teacher, then individual attention to the students.

J acq R. Baldini , Plein Air, Oil, Acrylic, and Pastel, October 4-8, $690

Jacq R. Baldini is a working artist and photographer who regularly conducts workshops in all medias throughout the United States. Featured in many magazines, she is a native New Yorker now living and working in Niagara Falls. Her paintings are in private and public collections in the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada and Europe. .

Baldini is the founder of International Plein Air Painters.

This five day Plein Air workshop will give you the tools to develop a strong composition by using grisaille techniques to produce a focused painting. These tools will enable you to develop a distinct style and make decisions based on good composition, lighting and color.
