ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Ms Yip Mei Sze Clara

Yip Mei Sze Clara was admitted as a Solicitor since 1997 and registered as a Counsellor in

Australian Counselling Association since 2010. She started her family mediation practice since 2011

and was accredited as a Family Mediation Supervisor by Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation

Association Limited (HKMAAL) in 2014. She is a trainer in HKMAAL Accredited Family Mediation

courses in 2017 and 2018 and an active coach in various Family Mediation Accreditation, Conversion

(from general mediator to family mediator) and General Mediation courses approved by HKMAAL in

the past years. She is also a visiting/guest lecturer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The

University of Hong Kong teaching degree and master students mediation and family law.

Practising as a Solicitor, Family and General Mediator and Counsellor, Clara has always been

invited to share how to apply her cross-professional skills in her day-to-day mediation practice. She

also delivers seminars, workshops and training on family mediation and related issues to various

organizations and bodies with a mission to promote family harmony. Clara currently is a consultant

of a family mediation project of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and a member of

HKMAAL’s Working Group on Review of Accreditation, CPD and Training Course Applications.

Ms Sala Sihombing

Sala Sihombing is a full time accredited family and general mediator (HKIAC, HKMAAL)

(FINRA mediation panel USA, NMAS Australia). In addition, she teaches family mediation and

financial dispute resolution in the LLM programme as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Hong

Kong.

Sala was admitted as a solicitor (England and Wales, Hong Kong) following her LLB (Hons)

at the University of Bristol. She moved to Hong Kong on qualification and worked initially in

private practice. For 14 years, Sala worked in investment banking in a variety of roles including: in

house counsel (Credit Agricole Indosuez / Peregrine Management Limited) and in transaction

management and product development as an Executive Director (Morgan Stanley). However, Sala

left investment banking to complete an LLM in Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, USA.

Sala is the co-author of Mediation in Hong Kong published in July 2014 by CCH Wolters

Kluwer with a second edition due late 2018. She is also a contributor of the Hong Kong chapter to

the International Survey of Family Law 2018 (Intersentia).

Certificate of attendance will be distributed to the participants at the end of the workshop. The name written on your application form will be the name printed on your certificate of attendance.
