Workshop:CsoundandtheUnityGameEngine
RoryWalshAdaptiveaudioforgamespresentsaseriouschallengeforbothdevelopersandsounddesigners.Existingaudiomiddlewareoffersomesolutions,butfallwayshortofthekindoftoolssounddesignersareusedtoworkingwith.ThistalkwillfocusontheuseofCsoundasafullyintegratedsoundenginefortheUnity(3D)gameengine.ThetalkwillbeginwithalookatsomecoreelementsofUnity,includingbasicplayermovements,theUnityphysicsengine,camerasandscenes.ThiswillbefollowedbyanlookattheCsoundUnitypackageandintegrationofCsoundintoagame.DifferentapproachestousingCsoundasagameaudioenginewillbeexplored,aswellastechnicalissuesthatneedtobeaddressedwhendevelopingfordifferentplatforms.ThetalkwillfinishwithalookatarecentgamedevelopedbytheauthoraspartofaweeklongartistsresidencyatLoughDaninCo.Wicklow.Saturday26thNovember2016,15:00-17:00,BewerungeRoom,MaynoothUniversity.
