Worksheet 1Tittle : Introducing the Physics Quantities, Unit, and its Measurement
Learning Guide :
1. Read the text below (you can also use another references about physics quantities).
2. Clarification the text comprehension.
3. Observing and measuring object in the classroom and its unit.
4. Classifying the fundamental quantities and derived quantities in the box
5. Conclusion by completing the last chart.
1. Read the text
In the physic there are two common terms to define the quantities.
Fundamental quantities are
the basic quantities which can be
measured such as: length, mass,
time, temperature, light intensity,
amount of substance, and
electric current . All otherquantities in physics can be
expressed in terms of the
derived quantities. The derived quantities are made
of the fundamental quantities, several example are

volume (multiplication of length
and square), speed (distance
divided by time), force (mass
times acceleration), etc.Fundamental quantities are conventionally established by the “International
Conference on Weight and Measurement (SI).” Each quantity has its unit, for example length
in meter , mass in kilogram, time in second, temperature
in Kelvin, amount of substance in
mol, light intensity in Candela,
electric current in ampere. Other quantities are
derived from these fundamental quantities, such as volume, density, velocity, force, work and
many others which are called the derived quantities.
2. Clarification
a. From the text above, write your comment about the definition of:
