Space Requirement on Computer

For every hour of captured 12-13 Gigabytes of disk space is needed.

For every minute captured .2 gigabytes of disk space is needed. (12/60 minutes)

After project has been rendered into a Movie. It will be compressed. When downloading a compressed movie the rule of thumb is:1 Minute of Video = 2 MB (Another reason for keeping project to a minimal time constraint)

Splitting and Deleting Clips

To delete certain sections of the movie, move the blue “scrubber” line to the desired location. Hit “Ctrl L” or from the menu choose “Clip” then “Split”

Your movie has now been segmented into different parts. Split the clip again at the desired location to give you multiple segments, then click on the segment you wish to take out and hit delete.

Muting Narration

If you are using a clip from Discovery Education and you want to have your own narration you need to mute the audio. To do this, highlight the clip. Click “Clip” “Audio” and then “Mute”. Repeat for each segment you want muted

The is also useful if there is sound on the recording produced using a video camera.

Adding Custom Narration

To narrate your timeline, click “Tools” then “Narrate Timeline”. When you are ready to begin click “Start Narration”. After you are finished save the narration

Saving the Movie

You can play your movie back while editing pictures or video. View it in the window to the right. When you are finished click “Save to my computer”. Also, save your movie often!
