About the workshopAsUKHEIsfacetheprospectof anincreasinglydiverseandcrowdedmarketplace,theneedtodevelopnewcollaborationsandrevenuestreamsishighoneveryone’sagenda.Manybusinessorganisationshaveinvestedsubstantiallyintrainingtoservicetheiremploymentneedsbutthereisalsoanincreasingappetite among both employers and employees for academic qualificationsthatembodyhigher-levelskillsandanincreasedemphasison‘graduateness’.Highereducationinstitutionshaveengageddirectlywithemployers,eithertoco-developnewprogrammesof studyoraccreditemployers’owntrainingprogrammes.However,bothapproachesrequirealevelof understandingof HEcurriculumdesign,approachestoassessmentandprogrammeapprovalandqualitymonitoringprocesses which many employers naturally lack. This seminar will feature case studies of different types of employer engagementinprogrammedevelopmentandaccreditationandprovideanopportunityforparticipantstodiscussissuesandsharepractice.Weshallalsobejoinedbyarepresentativeof theQualityAssuranceAgency’sEmployerBasedTrainingAccreditation(EBTA)servicewhichhasfacilitatedthedevelopmentof severalaccreditationarrangementsbetweenHEIsandbothsmallandlargeemployers.
