We facing a new global trend, there is a growing number of people, who prefer to do flexi work at home.

The more advance we get, the more people want to work from home

It can be an extension of the office. You are having full employment and actually have your own office at the work place, but some of your work are done at home.

The technology make it possible. The office system and data base can be extended and accessed from home. Of course there will be variation to the % of work you are doing at home.

You are employed by an organization but you are a virtual work force. You will receive the instruction from your boss at the office, detailing the works to be done, the deliverable, the schedule etc, then you will do the job and deliver the works to the office.

If it is an information products, then you can deliver virtually. If it is physical products, then it has to be physically delivered.

You can be entrepreneur, work for your self and become your own boss. There are many opportunity in this area. Some actually had been practiced for centuries.

If you are good at tailoring - then you can operated your shop from home. You only need to get your customers either through internet marketing or the traditional newspapers.

If you like cooking, then you can do it and deliver to restaurants or home.

You can do internet business, doing blogs and sell the goods on line.

In fact there are countless opportunities.

Why some people prefer to work from home or at home varies according to his/her situation.

The need to raise a family - Imagine if you are starting your family and you have a kid. Sending him to nursery can be expensive or you really want to raise your kid by yourself, then working at home is your choice.

You do not like the travelling - of course, not many people like the hassle of the traffic jam, it only raise up your blood pressure and wasting hours of your precious time on the road. You might as well use the time to make the extra dollars from home.

I think the single most important factor is the power of the technology, namely the internet. Even in the office, the work trend had changed tremendously.

In the 60's, most of the communication is face to face. You want to talk to a person, you just take a few steps to his office and discuss. In 80s and 90s, the phone was getting popular. You just give him a call.

Now the email and messaging is the popular mode of communication.

Of course you save the travelling, the cost of petrol and the time, the rising blood pressure.

You can be taking care of your beautiful daughter, trying to make her what you yourself like to be. When she takes her morning nap, can can open you work bag.

You can do two or three jobs, not only for company A only, but for B and C. So true for digital products.

Your will miss the lunch time gossips, about the bosses and the colleagues.

You can miss the chance to show your new dress or new hair style.
