Workday - User Guide to Performance Management (CAP)
Workday: Wrap-Up Overview
The following step-by-step guide is designed to walk Employees and Managers through the Performance Management process (CAP) in Workday. This Manual goes through the Employee and Manager’s Workday steps for Wrap-Up. Users needing assistance at any point in the process should contact Learning and Development.
HRIS pushes out Wrap-Up to
employees, and it appears in
Inbox. Employee clicks Inbox task
to initiate Self-Evaluation.

Employee’s Screen
Employee reviews directions and clicks
“Get Started” to begin Self-Evaluation.
Employee enters in comment field what
was accomplished after each goal.
Enter helpful context, themes seen across
goals and reflection on overall performance
(including accomplishments outside of
outlined goals) to summary comment field.
Review Goals set
during Kick-Off here.
Select the “Category” of goal
and “Status” of goal from
applicable drop down menus.

Employee should review directions and
enters responses to into applicable text fields.
Click “Next” to advance to
final review and submit page.
Click “Submit once Self-Evaluation notes
are reviewed and finalized.
Click “Save for
Later” to save,
return, and
finalize draft later.

Manager’s Screen
Click “Done” to exit Wrap-Up
Self-Evaluation.
Manager is notified via Workday inbox
when they can complete the Manager
evaluation. Click notification to open task.

Manager reviews directions and clicks “Get
Started” to begin Manager Evaluation.
Review employee’s summary. Enter
summary on employee’s overall
performance, themes across goal
completion, and accomplishments outside of
outlined goals into summary comment field.
Manager reviews goal, employees Self-
Evaluation comments, and enters in
comment field the applicable goal notes &
feedback to employees.

Manager reviews Employee’s
responses and enters feedback/
responses to into applicable text fields.
Click “Next” to advance to final
review and submit page.
Click “Submit” once Manager Evaluation
notes are reviewed and finalized.
Click “Save for
Later” to save,
return, and
finalize draft later.

At this point in the Wrap-Up phase, Manager and Employer will meet in person to discuss Self and
Manager Evaluation. After the meeting, both Manager and Employee will be prompted to complete
meeting acknowledgement in Workday.
Manager’s Screen
Click “Done” to exit Wrap-Up
Manager Evaluation.
Manager is notified via Workday
inbox to complete Wrap-Up
Meeting Acknowledgement.

Click “Submit” once Wrap-Up
Meeting takes place with Employee.
Click “Done” to exit Wrap-Up Meeting
acknowledgement.

Employee is notified via Workday
inbox to complete Wrap-Up Meeting
Acknowledgement.
Employee reviews directions and clicks
“Get Started” to begin Wrap-Up Meeting
Acknowledgement.

Employee reviews Self-evaluation and Manager
Evaluation content, in addition to developmental
questions and responses.
Click “Next” to advance to
Employee Acknowledgement.

select the Wrap-Up meeting
acknowledgement.
Click “Submit” after
acknowledgement is selected
to advance to next page.

CAP Wrap-Up Phase is complete. Goals and content from this phase do not roll-over into Kick-Off
phase, however, progress discussed on goals and feedback entered should be referenced when
Employees create and Managers edit goals for the Kick-Off phase of CAP.
Click “Done” to exit Wrap-Up
