the fourth annual Speedway Superstar, earning the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the

nationally televised Sam’s Town 300 Nationwide Series race on March 10.

The finalists were selected during competitions at each property, where contestants auditioned

by singing the national anthem a cappella, first before a panel of judges and then in front of a

live audience. Judging the final performances were Terry Jenkins, Director of Entertainment;

Krissy Ayon, Entertainment Manager at Sam’s Town Las Vegas; and Jeff Motley, Vice President

of Public Relations for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Winning first place and earning the honor of singing the national anthem was Sam’s Town

entrant Bridgette Foster, a vocal coach from Las Vegas.

May 16 was an exciting day for Boyd Gaming, as we announced one of the

largest and most important acquisitions in our Company’s history—the

purchase of Peninsula Gaming.

Once completed, this acquisition will add five properties and two new

states (Iowa and Kansas) to our nationwide family:

■ In Iowa, we will be adding Diamond Jo-branded casinos in

Dubuque and Worth County;

■ In Louisiana, we are acquiring the Evangeline Downs racetrack

and casino in Opelousas (near Lafayette) and the Amelia Belle

riverboat casino, in Amelia, about an hour from New Orleans. This

will give us five properties in Louisiana, making Boyd Gaming the

state’s largest casino operator with over 6,000 slot machines.

■ In Kansas, we’ll be adding the state’s largest commercial casino,

the all-new Kansas Star, in Mulvane, near Wichita. The Kansas

Star operates in a temporary facility, but will move to its

permanent home at the end of 2012. When completed in 2015, the

development will include 2,000 slots, 55 table games, restaurants,

an Equine Center and 4,200-seat arena.

“Acquiring Peninsula Gaming is a transformative transaction that fits

perfectly into our growth strategy by expanding our Company’s scale,

diversifying our platform, strengthening our financial profile, and

generating meaningful value for our shareholders,” said Keith Smith,

President and Chief Executive Officer.

In addition to introducing us to new markets, the Peninsula properties

will strengthen our financial position, create opportunities for

cross-marketing through B Connected, and provide us with great

long-term growth potential.

Once the transaction is completed toward the end of the year, the

Boyd Gaming family will include 22 properties in eight states. And more

locations mean more great career opportunities for the entire Boyd

Why are we making health screenings a part of the annual insurance enrollment process?

One of the best ways we can ensure a higher quality of life for all team members is through preventative medicine. If we can identify potential health risks early, we are able to treat them sooner, and keep issues from having a major impact on your life and health.

But there are benefits to your pocket book as well. Conditionslikediabetes, highbloodpressureorheartdisease are much less expensive to treat and control in their early stages. Those savings are the reason we are able to offer you significant discounts on your health insurance premiums for participating in these screenings.

Will my health care premiums go up if you identify issues during my screening?

Absolutelynot!Yourpremiumwillbebasedontheplanyouchoose, not the results of your screening. In addition, your eligibilitytoreceiveinsurancewillnotbeaffected.Again, ourgoal is to help you and your family members live healthier, longer lives by identifying potential issues as early as possible. That will also help you save money in the long run.

Learn more about your benefits by visiting boyd.net—available on computer kiosks at your property—and select “Benefits” from the

“HR Services” tab.

We’ve made the gaming industry’s leading website even better, with the launch of the

next generation of B Connected Online in April. The new B Connected Online is chock full

of industry firsts and special features.

The centerpiece of the enhanced and expanded website is “B Connected Social,” the

first comprehensive social gaming platform linked to a casino industry loyalty program.

Through this program, members can earn rewards for using various features on BCO and

property websites—such as booking rooms or logging onto B Connected Online—and

promoting offers, events and promotions on major social media channels such as Facebook,

Twitter, Google Plus and Foursquare. They can collect “badges,” compete with other

B Connected Social members in online activities, and earn “Social Points” that can be used

to enter regular contests.

“Since its launch three years ago, B Connected Online has become one of the gaming

industry’s most visited websites, receiving numerous national awards for its ease of

use and wealth of information,” said Paul Chakmak, Executive Vice President and Chief

Operating Officer. “The popularity of online social gaming is exploding, and we are

confident that the groundbreaking features of B Connected Social will further distinguish

B Connected Online as the leading online brand in the gaming industry.”

Also new to B Connected Online is “My Alerts,” a feature that allows customers to choose

which casino amenities they want to hear about in real time, using email, text messages,

and push messages to their mobile app. My Alerts options include:

•OffersWatch, which alerts customers when a new personalized offer arrives;

•EntertainmentWatch, which alerts customers to events based on their interests; and,

•SlotWatch, which notifies customers when a new slot line debuts at their favorite property.

Prefer email or text alerts? The choice belongs to our customers.

To celebrate the launch, we held weekly contests through B Connected Online, giving away

trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas, company gift cards, slot dollars and other merchandise. All

B Connected members were able to receive a free entry through B Connected Online, and

then earn additional entries for every 50 Social Points earned.

Companywide Action Plan

Boyd Gaming veteran Jim Sullivan was

named Vice President and General

Manager of the Fremont Hotel & Casino

in downtown Las Vegas last year.

Jim’s career with Boyd Gaming began in

1985, when he was hired as a craps dealer

at The Cal. After rising to the position

of Director of Casino Operations at The

Cal, Sullivan was promoted to lead the

operations of Jokers Wild and Eldorado.

“The two years I spent at Eldorado and

Jokers Wild was a tremendous experience,”

Sullivan said. “The teams at those two

properties work so well together for a

common goal. It was a great learning

experience and helped me to become a

better manager.”

He also credits the Fremont’s hard-working team members and their strong commitment

to “Personality with a Hustle” (P.W.A.H) for the property’s continuing success.

“Our team members make sure to put the customer first and are dedicated to

providing them with a great experience. It’s an initiative that is essential for the

success of the Fremont.”

Sullivan first came to Las Vegas in 1972 when his dad, who was in the Air Force, was

transferred to the city. He is especially proud of his daughter, who was recently

awarded a college tennis scholarship. “I enjoy watching her play in tournaments and

I like just about any activity that is outdoors,” he said.

YOU SPOKE, NOW IT’S TIME FOR ACTION! The Boyd Gaming Team Member Opinion Survey is

a great example of Boyd Style in action. During our

2011 survey, 91% of team members provided valuable

feedback on what we do well, and where there are

opportunities to do things better.

The 2011 survey revealed that we have a lot to

celebrate, including:

✓ Compared to similar gaming companies in my area, this property is a good place to work scored 78% –

6% above similar gaming companies in the U.S.

✓ The safety of employees is important and stressed in my department scored 80% – 3% above similar gaming companies.

✓ All in all I’m satisfied with my job scored 76%, which is 10% higher

than our competitors.

While we have many areas to celebrate, there is always room for improvement. Action Plans

created to address those opportunities are being shared with team members across the

Company. In addition to Property Action Plans, Boyd Gaming has developed a Companywide

Action Plan that includes policy reviews and training, review of automated systems,

developing goal-setting training, and sharing policy updates.

Team member feedback is truly the compass that helps keep

Boyd Gaming moving in the right direction. Thank you for

your input and your efforts to help make Boyd Gaming an

even better place to work. Our next survey will be held

November 28–December 14.

PREVENTIVE CARE COVERED 100%It’s an old truism that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. At Boyd

Gaming, prevention is not only a healthy choice, it’s a free one, too.

When covered by a CIGNA Health Plan, team members and covered family members

receive free annual preventive health care benefits from in-network providers.

There are no out-of-pocket costs for preventive services—no copays, no deductibles

and for team members in the Choice Plans, no cost to your HRA (Health Fund).

Covered preventive services include annual physical exams, immunizations and

age-appropriate health screenings, such as mammograms or colonoscopies.

Preventive care is defined as care provided when no symptoms are present. The

objective of annual preventive care exams is to prevent disease and to keep you

healthy. By alerting you to potential health issues early, they can help you get

treatment before a serious health problem develops.

Be sure to remind your doctor to note on the claim to CIGNA that you’re receiving an

annual physical exam or other preventive health screening. That notation is critical

to receiving 100 percent coverage.

Remember, Boyd Gaming’s annual preventive care benefits are totally free when you

use in-network providers and are available each year to help ensure the good health

of you and your family. If you haven’t been to see your provider for your annual

physical exam in the last year, call and make an appointment now!

The Green CornerGoing Dark for Earth Hour

Boyd Gaming once again joined people, businesses and governments from across the planet in supporting the largest environmental event in history, Earth Hour.

In March, Boyd Gaming’s Las Vegas properties turned off non-essential exterior lighting in support of Earth Hour.

Boyd Gaming’s participation in Earth Hour demonstrates our overall commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainable practices. Over the last three years, Boyd Gaming has cut its annual electricity usage by more than 17 million kilowatt-hours, reducing our carbon footprint by more than 8.3 million pounds annually while saving Boyd Gaming more than $1.4 million a year. New initiatives will further reduce electricity usage by an additional 5 million kWh.

Travel and tourism generates $1.8 trillion in economic output nationwide, and supports 14 million jobs, including 7.4 million directly in the travel industry, and an additional 6.7 million in other industries.

More than 70 years ago, Boyd Gaming co-founder Sam Boyd arrived

in Las Vegas, beginning a legacy of community involvement that

continues to this day.

Promoting that legacy and presenting a positive, optimistic outlook for southern

Nevada’s future are the goals of our Nevada Proud campaign, currently airing on

KSNV Channel 3, NBC’s Las Vegas affiliate. The campaign includes short spots talking

about our history and our pride in the community, as well as Boyd Gaming-sponsored

public service announcements by leading charitable organizations in southern Nevada.

The campaign is a unique fit for our Company’s culture, and our focus on being a leading

corporate citizen in our communities. As we noted in last year’s Corporate Social Responsibility

report, “At Boyd Gaming, giving back to our communities is more than something we do. It is at

the root of what Boyd Gaming is all about.”

Want to check the campaign out? Visit boyd.net to see the latest spots in this exciting campaign.

The Orleans was the only Las Vegas Locals casino

to receive a 2011 Quality Assurance Award from MLT

Vacations. This prestigious award recognizes hotels throughout North America that

achieve 99% customer satisfaction and product performance ratings.

The Food & Beverage department at Delta Downs introduced new and improved

menus in both the Vista restaurant and the Delta Food Court, following a survey of

our guests. Some of the more

popular new items include:

Delta Deluxe Breakfast, Jackpot

Burger, Blue Bell Ice Cream, and

chocolate treats.

Little did Becky Mohr know that two weeks as a temp would grow

into a 17-year career at Par-A-Dice. During her career she worked

in both the Legal and Marketing departments. In March, Becky bid

adieu to her fellow team members to begin a new life in retirement.

When asked what she’s looking forward to the most, she said,

“Sleeping in untill 6:30, having coffee while watching the news,

and staying in my jammies until at least 9.”

Established in 2002, the Boyd/Ruvo Scholarship Fund provides financial support for

minority students who are seeking a degree in the

field of hospitality at the University of Nevada, Las

Vegas. Potential candidates must be enrolled in the

College of Hotel Administration, be a full-time student

and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Each scholarship

recipient receives up to $3,000 for tuition and other

educational expenses. Each of our spring semester

scholarship students are first-time recipients.

The IP held their annual Team Member Appreciation event in

May with a Southern-style crawfish boil. The management

team served team members hamburgers, hot dogs and piled

high plates of crawfish. All attendees received a t-shirt and

enjoyed a video arcade, games, contests and raffle drawings

throughout the day.

The 3rd annual Super Smoke Cigar Social to benefit the United Way of LaPorte County

was held in March at Blue Chip. The event was a sell-out,

with 250 in attendance. Guests enjoyed fine cigars, cocktails,

dinner and both a silent and live auction. Among the auction

prizes was an African Safari for two people. Attendees had a

great time and raved about their experience, and more than

$52,000 was raised for the United Way.

Downtown Las Vegas celebrated Hawaiian style with the 15th Annual Lei Day

Polynesian Festival in May. This annual festival brought together musicians,

dancers, artists, craftsmen and food vendors to showcase the very best
