AER&RG Note: AER will work province only. Each routine has been calculated for 3 min
per athlete, with athletes in Open, ADP and International including a full play of their music. This will include some athletes who compete in pairs, and
groups. Aeroschools routines do not need a music run as GNZ provide the master of this music. This will mean for the majority of the provinces they will need to alternate music
with RG. In the first table above it shows which provinces will not need any music and
for how long. When those provinces are training music will run RG only. Each province will need to warm-up in the warm-up area prior to using the podium, and we will have
no more than 10 athletes using the podium at one time for Health and Safety reasons, meaning there will be current session athletes and next session athletes needing to
warm-up in the warm-up space. Provinces will be responsible for playing their own music and determining run order for
the training sessions. RG please note that some AER provinces aren’t using the music for their full allotment of
time. Please be prepared to run straight through with no alternating when this is the
case. Both floors are available for use (warm-up and competition for your time slot), it might be beneficial to bring a speaker so you can run routines with music on both floors.

The following policy has been developed at the request of competition organizers. It has been
adopted for implementation at all gymnastic competitions throughout New Zealand.

Regional and/or Qualification Meets/Competitions, National and/or Provincial Championships. For senior competitions/championships, if the appropriate penalty to be applied is not
specified in the respective Code of Points, this policy shall apply.
For junior competitions/championships, if the appropriate penalty to be applied is not
specified in the respective Technical Manual, this policy shall apply.
Definition – the competition floor shall also apply to the stretch/warm up area with regards to the Unauthorised Persons penalty.

to be excused from the Floor Manager or Control Judge.
Penalty for unapproved absence from the competition floor – for a first breach a warning will be issued and a 0.20 penalty taken from the Gymnast’s/Athlete’s Individual All
Around score. For subsequent breaches, the penalty will be DISQUALIFICATION from the competition.
Penalty for late appearance after the green light/flag- the respective Code of Points
penalties shall apply. Gymnasts/Athletes, Coaches, Region/Club Officials or unauthorised persons may not talk to
“active” judges during competition.
Penalty for Gymnast/Athlete talking to “active” judges during competition – 0.20 penalty taken from the Gymnasts/Athletes Individual All Around score.
Penalty for Coaches, region/club Official or unauthorised persons talking to “active” judges during competition – for a first breach a warning will be issued and a 0.20 penalty taken from
the Gymnasts/Athletes Individual All Around score or the team score whichever is applicable. For subsequent breaches the person shall be excluded/removed from the remainder of the
competition.
The Coach or the Team Manager may query a start value during the competition. These
queries must be directed through the Control Judge who will be available at the Competition Jury table or on the competition floor overseeing the work of the judges. If circumstances
determine that the Control Judge is required to be a member of an apparatus panel, he/she may only be approached with queries in the inactive periods, that is, between rotations.
Unauthorised persons are not permitted on the competition floor. With the exception of the accredited persons, no Regional/Club Officials, Coaches, photographers, video

DISQUALIFIED. In all instances, infractions will be reported to the Control Judge who will action and authorise
the penalties and warnings.
8.2 Blood and Body Fluid Policy The following policy rules are to be applied at all gymnastics events, competitions, contests, activities and training sessions.
A gymnast or person who is bleeding or has blood on their clothing must immediately leave the
area of activity (field of play) and seek attention. The bleeding must be stopped, the wound dressed and blood on the gymnasts/person’s body or
clothing cleaned off before they return to the activity.
49
The activity in the potentially infectious area must cease until all blood on the ground/floor or equipment is cleaned up.
These rules also apply to body fluids.
Support Information ASSUME ALL BLOOD AND BODY FLUIDS ARE POTENTIALLY INFECTIOUS
Wash your hands before and after treatment for cuts and abrasions. Cover all cuts on your hands with waterproof dressings before treating.
Avoid skin contact with blood and body fluids.
Use disposable gloves if skin contact with blood or body fluid is likely. Use paper towels to clean up blood or body fluids.
Soiled surfaces must be disinfected with household bleach. Use one part bleach to ten parts water. Ideally bleach should be in contact with the surface for half an hour.

Public Health Commission, New Zealand 1994. Code 4264
Further information on Blood and Body Fluids for sport is available

8.3 Health and Wellbeing Policy
Head & Neck Injuries This policy applies to any Gymnast/Athlete, who falls on or from the apparatus, landing mats or
floor, and lands on their head or neck, either in training, competition or any gymnastic related activity.
Head Injuries Visible Signs of Concussion
The symptoms of concussion are dizziness, loss of memory, confusion, slurred speech, pupil size difference or loss of consciousness. Any Gymnast/Athlete who shows signs of concussion is
automatically stood down and will be sent to the Paramedics for initial screening. If concussion is suspected the athlete will be referred to a Medical Doctor. The Gymnast/Athlete will be stood
down from all gymnastic activity until clearance to continue is received from a Medical Doctor. The head injury sustained should be reviewed by a Medical Doctor in the shortest appropriate
time scale.
No Visible Signs of Concussion
If there is suspected concussion, but there are no visible signs of concussion, despite a head injury, the Gymnast/Athlete will be stood down from all gymnastic activity and will be sent to the
Paramedics for initial screening. The Gymnast/Athlete will remain stood down until clearance to continue is received from a Medical Doctor.
Neck Injuries
The policy is dependent on the severity of the injury and as to whether there is any neurological
symptom associated with this in the form of weakness, numbness or other similar sign. Paramedics will assess severity on-site and decide appropriate action. Each significant neck injury
should be screened by a Medical Doctor following the injury and appropriate X-rays taken to exclude a fracture. The Gymnast/Athlete must be stood down from all gymnastic activity until
clearance to continue is received from a Medical Doctor.
Medical Clearance On receipt of the medical clearance document, the Event Manager, in consultation with the
Control Judge (in the situation of a competition or event) or the Club Official/Coach supervising
the gymnastic activity (in the situation of training) is the Official authorised to approve the medical clearance and authorise the resumption of continued gymnastics activity.
