The Time is Now: HyperscalersIn looking back over the course of our 15 year history of creating an annual occasion for the entire spectrum of the cloud, hosting and in-ternet service provider space to come together to make great things happen, there exists one fundamental element that has been par-amount to achieving our combined success: partnership. Because we firmly believe in the competitive advantage it offers, we have de-signed our festivals to ensure a high level of interaction and engage-ment that makes opportunities for collaboration a genuinely attain-able objective. For 2019, we see this through the lens of a dynamic marketplace exacting demands that are diverse and increasing all the time; and you, as the cloud infrastructure and web hosting pro-viders, ISVs and MSPs, are being challenged to respond with flexible and cost-effective solutions that make the lives of your customers easier and better.

Hyperscaling in Hyper-DriveHyperscalers are set to solve one of the most fundamental problems facing the world of internet technology - complexity. A recent study conducted by Gartner Inc. anticipates that the top ten infrastructure service providers, the hyperscalers, will account for nearly 70 percent of the market by 2021, a jump up from 50 percent in 2016. As the technology landscape continues to evolve and user needs mature, hyperscalers are poised to continue reshaping the face of the market as we know it, and servicing it is steeped in opportunity. We see this time as a critical juncture in the industry, a time where service provid-ers should no longer look to hyperscalers as the competition, but to welcome them as a vital partner.

Investing in the FutureCloudFest takes a fundamental shift in 2019, focusing our event around the central theme of hyperscale enablement. In so doing, ex-pect to mix company with a handful of the most globally recognized hyperscale operators who are ready to share the opportunities that exist in the channel partner space, and outline strategies for how to forge profitable partnerships. Why Hyperscalers

Hyperscaler enablement is a central theme throughout our 2019 event, offering content to illustrate how channel partnerships can be a viable means for service providers to reshape and ultimately grow their business:

♦ Opportunity in profit: Hyperscale partnerships open up the potential to make money from varying streams of the demand and value chains

♦ Opportunity in the market expansion: As organizations move from an analog to digital means of working, hy-perscalers have arrived to fill the gap, and that contin-ues to grow

♦ Opportunity in development tools: In terms of efficiency and features, the hyperscale cloud has the most signif-icant developers and will consistently outpace on fea-ture richness; clearly it makes sense to leverage it

♦ Opportunity in trust: Cloud is outsourcing. It’s easy to trust a hyperscaler on infrastructure, while continuing to trust a channel partner on management and systems design

Smaller-scale service providers still make up 50 percent of the overall cloud services marketplace, but that num-ber is rapidly shrinking. Why? Because they are pursuing hyperscale partnerships now! Many of the noteworthy hy-perscalers are organizing dedicated conferences. A path of accessibility, however, does not exist for providers who have yet to decide upon a partner or for those who seek to understand the dynamics of working with multiple hyper-scalers in a single environment. ♦ The worldwide public cloud services market is project-ed to grow 21.4 percent in 2018 to a total of $186.4 bil-lion, up from $153.5 billion in 2017.

♦ The fastest growing segment of the market is the cloud infrastructure services (IaaS), which is forecast to grow 35.9 percent in 2018 to reach $40.8 billion

♦ Forecasters predict that the top 10 providers, hyperscal-ers, will account for close to 70 percent of the IaaS mar-ket by 2021, up from 50 percent in 2016.

♦ Synergy Research Group has identified 24 companies that meet its definition of hyperscale. In 2016 those companies in aggregate accounted for 68 percent of the cloud infrastructure services market (IaaS, PaaS, pri-vate hosted cloud services) and 59 percent of the SaaS market. In 2012 those hyperscale operators accounted for just 47 percent of each of those markets.

♦ Hyperscale cloud / data center capital expenditures in the first quarter saw a new high, reaching $27 billion for the first three months of 2018.

About the Venue

Because our festival is the place where the innovators, ed-ucators, and entrepreneurs of our industry come togeth-er to learn, connect and grow, we are passionate about creating an environment which truly illustrates this ethos. Maximizing the fullest potential of what Europa-Park’s fa-cilities have to offer, our festival space combines supreme functionality with an impressive layout, ensuring both ex-hibitors and attendees alike feel warmly welcomed.

The Europa-Park Confertainment Center is our prima-ry facility and where the majority of our festival will take place, excluding the bulk of our after hours events, which typically occur in other areas of the park. CloudFest’s pri-mary locations within the Confertainment Center include (in alpha order) the following:

Circus Celebration is situated on the second floor of the center. Here is where we will conduct our new workshops /bootcamps.

cloud.FAIR (Arena), located on the main level, is where our 200+ exhibition partners come together to showcase their latest technologies in front of the largest gathering of cloud, hosting and internet infrastructure professionals.

CloudFest Media Office is located in the backstage area of the Confertainment Center. Here is the base of oper-ations for our media team who is on-site pre, during and post-event to manage all audiovisual components of our festival including still-photography, video, live-feeds, so-cial media, conference app, etc.

CloudFest Studio is located on the second level imme-diately behind the venue balcony lounge. Here is where our media team will conduct interviews with CloudFest’s keynote speakers and various presenters for use across our various social channels.

Internet Lounge is located on the main level and de-signed to be a space where visitors come to relax, chat, check email and power-up their devices.

Foyer is located as soon as you walk through the main entrance of the center and houses additional partner exhibitions.

main.FORUM (Dome) is the primary festival forum and stands as the largest of our event spaces is where attend-ees will hear from our keynote speakers, as well as take part in other larger-scale presentations / events.

main.FORUM (Ballsaal Berlin) is located on the first floor of the center and will be used to showcase our new Jury Sessions.

Registration / Information Desk is located near the main entrance area in the foyer of the center. Here is where you can pick up conference badges, materials and ask for as-sistance with any needs.

Salon Versailles is located on the second floor and the venue for our new speed.NETWORKING series. Taking a cue from the speed-dating concept, these quick-fire meet-ups allow companies to interact with one another during brief, one-on-one information exchanges to explore poten-tial synergies and opportunities.

Balcony Lounge is on the second level and overlooks the entire exhibition area. This is considered a chill out area for attendees to meet-up, grab a coffee and unwind.

VIP Lounge (La Sala Bianca) is reserved for our VIP guests. This area is an excellent place for our notable at-tendees to conduct meetings in a casual environment, packed with premium amenities.
