Woodworking Manufacturing Co-Op Program

The ConceptWorks Co-Op Program provides “real-world” work experience related to

woodworking which includes design, machining, assembly, and finishing.

The ConceptWorks High School Co-Op experience will provide you with an

opportunity to learn more about your skills, interests and strengths. If you want a

learning experience with a smaller company, where you’re not just another number,

ConceptWorks will show you how a small team can produce big results.

Our program allows for flexibility in your scheduled hours based on your academic

and extracurricular activities. We offer hours between 6am – 3:30pm, Monday

through Friday, for 9 weeks. Our Co-Op position is a paid, student work-based,

learning experience. Our facility is located less than 2 miles northwest of Howards

Grove.

Typical Materials Used at ConceptWorks: Wood (solid, plywood, OSB, MDF, particle

board), Bendi Ply, Kerfkore, Laminate / ColorCore®, Acrylic, Steel, Aluminum, Solid

Surface (i.e. Corian®), and Chemlam®

➢ Sales & Project Management Observation

➢ Preparation of Cut Lists

➢ Powered Hand Tools – Sanders, Routers, Pneumatic Nail Guns and Staplers,

Spray Guns, Power Drills, Impact Driver

➢ Machines – CNC Panel Saw, CNC Router, Table Saw, Edge Bander

➢ Material Handling

➢ Finishing – Painting, Staining

➢ Assembly

➢ Packing and Shipping

➢ Soft Skills – Such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking, decision

making, flexibility, making deadlines, perseverance, and adaptability
