Company Profile• Since 2004, Embalajes de Madera, S. De R.L. De C.V. (EM) has provided

packing and crating services to the relocation industry, and manufacturing companies in Baja California and México.

• EM is a Company managed by people with more than 17 years of experience in the packing and crating industry. Our headquarters are located in Tijuana, B.C. México. With combined office and warehouse space of 30,000 square feet.

• Our services include export crating, heavy-duty skids, custom crates, reusable crates, vapor barriers, pre-built crates, on-site crating, shock mounting and cushioning, vacuum packing and other value added processes that assist our customers in getting their valuable cargo from one location to another. Through continued dedication to excellence in service, our commitment to provide first class service to our customers remains our highest priority.

• EM offers all types of crating for the smallest pieces up to equipment weighing in excess of 70,000 pounds. We can handle crating needs almost anywhere, anytime, across México, “you just need to make one call”.

Skidding

• In many cases, complete crating may not be required. Skidding facilitates equipment handling.

• EM offers heavy duty skidding using properly sized timbers and hardware to allow forklift access at considerable cost savings over full crating.

Reusable and Custom Crates• Let EM custom design a crate that is exactly tailored to your needs for maximum re-usability.

• Using industry specific hardware, our technicians can build crates with internal compartments, fold-up ramps, hinged doors, tension latches, security locks or whatever else your specific needs call for.

Pre-built or On-site Crating

• When you have a large crating order, EM will survey and spec the items. Pending your approval, we will draw up plans and pre-fabricate the skids, walls and lids at our facility. Pre-fabrication cuts down on the actual crating and packaging time required at your facility. It also reduces the mess factor at your location.

Shock Mounting and Cushioning

• In certain cases your fragile electronics or machinery may require maximum cushioning tolerances to help minimize the effects of normal handling from place to place.

• EM will work with you to ascertain packing techniques that will ensure safety and reduce the risk of transit damage.

Vapor Barrier

• Salt air and humidity can wreak havoc on exposed metal and sensitive electronics. Crating alone may not be enough for overseas transportation.

• Vacuum sealing with appropriate levels of moisture absorbing materials (desiccant) is an excellent technique that minimizes corrosion. EM fabricates and installs custom Mylar bags as an added service.

Blocking, bracing and Containerizing

• EM’s blocking and bracing methods reduce the risk of cargo damage during transit. • Remember that your valuable containerized goods are subject to the same forces of

pitch and yaw that the ocean going vessel is exposed to. The higher your container sits on the vessel deck, the worse it gets in stormy seas.

• If you haven't taken the necessary precautions to secure the load, you will end up with one major mess at destination.

• Our crews have the experience to load, lash, block and brace machinery, vehicles, electronics and any other non-bulk loads as required.

International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures “ISPM”

• Did you know? Non-manufactured wood products destined for ports all over the world must be heat treated to specific standards and then stamped accordingly to ensure the absence of insects and a transmittable bug - the pinewood nematode.

• The participating countries reserve the right to turn back your shipment and/or fumigate it. This action can cause for lengthy delays, higher costs and even worse, they may choose to completely destroy your shipment.

• EM has the knowledge and certification to reduce the chance your shipment will be delayed due to noncompliance.
