Term 1 – Week 9 27th March 2015
ASSEMBLY NEXT WEEK WILL BE CONDUCTED BY MISS MUIR’S K/1 CLASS.
Dear Parents & Caregivers
There were plenty of crazy, zany and out there
hairstyles on display last Friday as the students and
staff fully embraced the fun of being different and
more importantly raising money for a very worthy
charity.
Congratulations to all for raising $119.00 for the
Leukaemia Foundation.
Don’t forget that the NSW State Election is being
held tomorrow and the school will be a Polling Booth
between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
Bring along some money for a chance to win a great
P&C hamper.
Regards
Principal
MRS BRAITHWAITES FAREWELL Don’t forget the special assembly in the Wongarbon Hall on Thursday, April 2 at 10:30am for Mrs Braithwaites farewell. Thank you to all the staff and students for their assistance in putting together a most suitable ‘RETIREMENT’ assembly. Parents are most welcome to attend and join us for morning tea afterwards.
ANZAC SERVICE Our school ANZAC service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, April 24 at the Cenotaph in the school playground. Everyone is most welcome to attend and if you wish lay a wreath during the service. The service will begin with our students doing their very own ‘COO‐EE’ march followed by the service which will include student poetry and research, singing and a speech from our Guest of Honour, Mr Maurice Campbell. Wongarbon CWA will provide morning tea.
INFORMATION UPDATE Thank you to the parents who have returned their parent update forms that were sent home last week. It is essential that we have correct parent information in our school records as this information not only affects our school funding but more importantly, that the school retains the most current parent and emergency contact numbers on file.
Please change any details that maybe incorrect in red pen if possible and return to the school office so that these changes can be entered into our school enrolment management system.
POPPY MAKING Thank you to those parents who volunteered to assist with poppy making today, however we changed the style of poppies to a simpler format and therefore did not require additional assistance. These poppies will be on display at our ANZAC Service on Friday, April 24.
SCHOOL COUNCIL Congratulations to Leanne Hollier who has been nominated to be our final parent representative on School Council. We now have full School Council membership for 2015.
