Wonga advert
The Wonga advert is very different to the other advert I ’ve heard. This is
because it uses the brand name about 34 times in the 40 second advert. This is
commonly known as ‘repetition of product name`. And there are 2 voices in
the advert.
At the beginning of the advert there is a high-pitched middle age’s female
voice. Saying ‘wonga`. This is very good because it gets the name of the
company stuck into you head. Then after a few verses the singing stops and
the woman starts talking about the actual brand. This gives you information
about both what the brand does and how to contact the company. There is
also a deep middle-aged male voice that repeats the last few words that the
female voice says, this is good because it gets the information stuck into your
head.
With the song at the begging and at the end, there is a high chance of you
singing that tune for a while, and getting it into other people’s heads. This
means they both broadcast though the radio and through you. The actual song
itself used on the music bed was a vocal. is a remix of the song made by ‘The
Chordettes’. This songs called ‘Mr. Sandman.
The main perpus of the advert is about raising brand awareness and promoting
sales. They do this really well because of the repetitiveness of the music and
vocals.
As it stands I didn’t notice any reason to have any commercial issues to do with
any minority or people.
