Eiffel Tower is a 300mt high wrought iron lattice tower constructed with pre-fab

technology. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel , whose company designed and

built the tower In 1889 as a part of 100 years celebration of French Revolution.

Pei’s design of the Louvre addition implemented a large glass and steel

pyramid that is surrounded by three smaller triangles that provide light to the

space below Cour Napoleon. For Pei, the glass pyramid provided a symbolic

entry that had historical and figural importance that reinforced the main entry

The Grand Palais is one of Paris' most

recognizable landmarks thanks to its

magnificent glass-domed roof. It was the work

of three different architects but the project was

overseen by famed French architect Charles

Girault, who was then given carte blanche to

design the Petit Palais.. The building is a

beautiful combination of a classicist stone facade, Art Nouveau ironwork and glass.
