Tom McBerry welcomed everyone. He prayed for the many requests and blessed the food. After a time of good food & fellowship Jean Freeman, our program chairperson, introduced our special guests, “The Otters.” This is a very fun group of talented ladies from Eagles Landing F.B. Church. They played all kinds of off-beat instruments: washboard, kazoo, shakers, etc. They told jokes & sang old songs like “Turn Your Radio On,” “Billy Boy,” “She’ll Be Comin’ ‘Round the Mountain,” “Old-time Religion” & “Rheumatism.” Tom McBerry read Romans 8:35-39. He asked the question, “Can one lose his/her salvation?” Absolutely not! If one is truly saved these verses tell us that nothing can separate us from God’s love. We collected $382 Love Offering for Sarah & Joe Mejias. Tom closed with prayer. So, Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy by Barbara Johnson. If you need a fresh breath of joy in your life, this book is just the prescrip- tion for you. This author can help you look for “life’s little sparkles,” even in the midst of life’s most crippling sorrows. When Did Caesar Become a Salad and Jeremiah a Bullfrog? by Martin Babb. What do you get when you combine downright hilarity with out- right wisdom? A delightful, uplifting read that will not only make you laugh out loud but will inspire your walk of faith. The Chance by Karen Kingsbury. From this author comes a heartwarm- ing story about childhood friends, broken lives, and a long-ago promise that just might offer the hope of love for today. Karen Kingsbury weaves a moving tale of heart-wrenching loss, the power of faith, and the wounds that only a forever kind of love can heal. She delves deeply into a theme that resonates within us all: Hope lives for those willing to take a chance. Please come by the library and borrow these books or take time to peruse the shelves for other books you would like to read. Our door is always open to you. Thank you to those of you that have donated books. We deeply appreciate your willingness to share your books with others.
