TRANSCRIPT
Check the schedule on page 2 for the time
and date that you work. You don’t want to
miss our first fundraiser of the year! We
always have such an enjoyable time selling
plants, talking with friends and smiling - a
lot.
You can be sure Margy Arthur has arranged
wonderful programs for us to enjoy at our
meetings. Last year’s programs were unde-
niably enlivening. So of course we have a
great beginning in September with our very
own Esther Kenyon telling us aboaut the
Seal Beach Performing Arts.
Our new Year Book is hot off the press and
ready for inspection. Make sure you thank
Twyla, Margy, Sylvia and Christa for all their
hard work. They did a superb job.
Welcome to our three new members, Peggy
Keller, Esther Kenyon and Linda Pearlman.
Here’s to “new Beginnings”, a new year,
new programs and new friends. It’s magic.

“And suddenly you know….it’s time to start some-
thing new and trust the magic of beginnings.”
Unknown
It is that time of year again, a time to see old
and new friends, stories to be shared of days
apart and plans for “new beginnings”. This
year we’ll have some gentle and exciting
changes. As you know, Standing Ovations
closed its doors this summer and though we’ll
miss them for sure, I am very excited about the
replacement Donna Dominguez and Barbara
Wright found. Barbara will be telling you all
about it soon. Marilyn Bittle and Patty Big-
gerstaff will share the needed, yet delightful
changes in the Laughlin Trip for this April.
Thank you all for all your devoted and challeng-
ing work.
Although our plant sale, coming up soon on
September 10 and 11 will remain pretty much
the same, I think we’ll see some big overall
changes in the Seal Beach Arts & Crafts Faire
itself.
Plants for the Plant Sale should be delivered to our booth at the pier by 7:00 a.m. Please
stay with your car at the curb and someone will come to help you carry your plants.

The year is 1946, and all over the world, young women are the seas in the thousands en route to the
men they married in wartime - and an unknown future. In Sydney, Australia, four women join 650
other bride on an extraordinary voyage to England, aboard the HMS Victoria, which also carries not
just arms and aircraft but 1000 naval officers and men. Rues of honour, duty, and separation are
strictly enforced. But the men and the brides will find their lives intertwined never imagined.
Please arrive at 11:45 a.m. on the first Wednesday except

The Seal Beach Community of Per-
forming Arts Association was
formed as a non-profit organiza-
tion in 2014 with a mission to pro-
mote numerous cultural activities,
i.e., drama (Shakespeare in the
Park, dance, instrumental con-
certs, dance, vocal recitals, chil-
dren's music education, opera,
etc., through an annual concert
series. The premise behind estab-
lishing SBCPAA is not only to bring
cultural activities to Seal Beach
and surrounding communities, but also
to establish that investment in the arts
and cultural is an essential part of
community identity. We believe the
fine Arts bring people together in a
common, uplifting experience and cre-
ate a more vibrant way of life and a
community where people want to live
and work, congregate, own a business,
and contribute to the economic vitality
of their city. We are pleased to bring
this new activity to the City of Seal
Beach.
