Wolverine ReportWolverine ReportWolverine Report Ore Concentrate Hauling Yukon Zinc will transport its concentrates south through Watson Lake, YT, then via Highway 37 to the port at Stewart, BC. YZC will take advantage of bulk haul parameters newly established by the BC & Yukon Governments. Trucks are permitted to have a gross vehicle weight of 72,300 kilograms, up from 63,500 kilograms, thereby reducing the number of shipments by approximately 15%. “Allowing larger, more efficient trucks will reduce the number of vehicles on the road, cut transportation costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and maintain our provincial highway system, by reducing pavement damage”, stated BC Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond.

Maple Leaf Loading in conjunction with the Kaska First Nation, their joint venture partner, has customized trucks specifically for the Wolverine Mine. Facilities to provide haulage support services are being considered for Watson Lake.
