Show Rules

Type of Show All breeds – This is a competition / display event

Show Rules As per the show rules and regulations of The Canary & Caged Bird Federation of

Australia Inc. and BSNSW.

All exhibitors must be members of a federation insured club.

Entries Entries can be phoned in or emailed to the Show Secretary.

Entries Close Sunday 22rd September 2019 at 9pm.

Late entries will not be accepted.

No changes to entries will be accepted.

Show Fee Secretary Julie Kelly – All money to be paid on the day to Julie Kelly by 9am.

Entry Fee $1.00 per exhibit (to a maximum of $20) plus postage.

Postage If postage of Class Labels (stickers) is required, $1.50 will be added to the total cost of

the entries.

Exhibitor Entry All exhibitors will be issued with a wrist band allowing them access to bring in / remove

birds and allow entry into the show.

Guests of exhibitors will need to purchase a gate entry pass.

Cages Appropriate specifications for the exhibit. Must be neat, clean and tidy, and must have

an appropriate drinker containing water at all times.

Class Label To be affixed to the bottom left hand corner of the cage

Floor Covering Standard floor coverings:

Canaries – white paper towel

Finches – mixed finch seed

Parrots – parrot mix

Neophemas – small parrot mix

Budgerigars – budgie mix

Benching All birds are to be staged between 7.00 am and 8:30 am

Cars will be allowed entry to the pavilion during this time. Cars will then need to be

removed from within the show ground. Security will guide all cars to the appropriate

parking areas. Parking will be available near the pigeon club shed.

Judging Judging will commence at 9 am sharp. Judges word is final.

Presentation Presentation time will be advised prior to show commencement.

Removal of Birds Removal of birds will commence at approximately 4 pm. No birds will be allowed to

leave the hall until all exhibitors are satisfied that they have their own birds and only at

the direction of the Show Manager.

Co-operation with gate security will be required to bring in cars for collection of birds as

the showground is still open to the public.

Tea / Coffee Tea & coffee will be provided on arrival.

NO Lunch There will be NO lunch served at this show. There will be venues within the showground

where you may purchase food and drinks.

General * Permission is assumed to reproduce images of any exhibit for publicity purposes.

* Every care will be taken with exhibits, but no responsibility will be accepted.

* The Show Manager has the right to remove any distressed or diseased bird from the

bench.

Heat Policy The show will be cancelled if the Bureau of Meteorology forecast for the Wollongong

area on Thursday 26th September 2019 at the 4.25 pm forecast for Saturday 28th

September 2019 is predicted at 36 degrees C or higher.

10.00 am Pavilion Opens to the public

10.30 am Parrots Colin Isbister will be discussing the African Lovebirds and his many years of experience with parrots and Judging.

11.30 am Canaries Greg Davie will be discussing and showing the different varieties of canaries.

1.00pm Budgerigars All Things Budgerigar with Warren Wilson.

2.00pm Finches

3.00pm Major Awards Presentation The awards will be presented by 2019 Dapto Showgirl and John Walker (President of Wollongong & District Avicultural Society Inc.)

4.00pm Pravilion closes
