Story Teller by: Jeff WolfIt’s getting very close……

The snow and ice and freezing temperatures have subsided, we have reached and surpassed the first day of spring. The grass is beginning to grow, the flowers blooming and the cabin fever has gone away for most of us here in the US.

The show season as began for us that don’t live where they have them year around! Goodguy’s just recently kicked off their first show of the season as of me writing this article have just about completed the Tex-as show! Hopefully all of our rides are in working order or getting close for the cruising season to begin! I know I’ve been following along on my favor-ite social media outlet in which they are indeed getting ready! We went to our first show of the season about a week ago, albeit an indoor show, but a show none the less! My ride is currently in the shop getting a few repair items squared away and will be ready to go here short-ly! Stay tuned right here in the magazine and on Facebook for coverage of all that summer time fun with our rides! It’s getting very close!!!!! En-joy!!! WMM

Voodoo Hoodoo 4 took place Saturday October 4th at the Super 8 Motel in Bowling Green, Kentucky just about an hour and a half north of our Murfreesboro Head Quarters..

The weather was a bit crisp but perfect for a pre 68 car show. There were hot rods, rad rods and customs present for your enjoyment. Jr’s brought out their valve cover racing drag strip for the young and the young at heart to enjoy. Even though the attendenance seemed a bit low, there were some nice rides to check out as you will see below. I’ll certainly be looking forwared to Voodoo Hoodoo 5 this fall! WMM

They say all good things must come to and end. I think the Music City Halloween Rod Run, in it’s 40th season, is probably no different.

The Music City Halloween Rod Run betan in 1974 and was hosted by the Shadetree Streetrods. I’ve been going on an off since the late 90’s. This was always one of my favorite shows of the year. It was located near the Nashville International Airport, located in a hotel parking lot that had tons of parking and this show would bring in the out of state cars to Nash-ville.

I would say they were coming into town to see the leaves turn color, maybe do a little Christmas Shopping and take a fall break in Music City.

These guys always had cool music blasting on the PA, they also had some cool car show t-shirts and sweatshirts all at reasonable prices.

I’m not sure why the group decided that 2014 will be their last year, but when you think about it, if this show started in ‘74 with a bunch of 20 somethings, they would now be a bunch of ‘60 somethings and may want to enjoy another hobby in their golden years?

Whatever the reason is for them deciding to hang it up after 40 years is unknown to me, however, I certainly which them a luck in any future endeavors and will certainly miss all the cool Street Rods coming to Mu-sic City in October!. WMM

Bench RacingBench Racing is defined in several different ways. The urban dictionary defines Bench Racing as:

1. To discuss quarter mile elapsed time of a car based on a list of modifications or horsepower estimate.2. To discuss the estimated output (in horsepower) of one engine versus another based on lists of modifications done to each engine.3. To discuss the estimated output (in horsepower) of one engine versus another based on lists of modifications done to each engine.

While I do agree with the Urban Dictionary’s definition of Bench Racing, Bench Racing in the context of this section of the magaine will be defined as:1. Discussion of ANYTHING automobile related between at least two individuals with the goal of passing time at a car show, sharing automotive related ideas, opinions or entertaining themselves or others.

Please feel free to share your bench race session wtih the readers by emailing:[email protected]
