Against the 49ers last Sunday, the

Rams offense made it two games

straight without turning the ball over

and St. Louis has committed only one

turnover in the last four games.

RB Steven Jackson has set a high bar

when it comes to protecting the foot-

ball, having touched the ball 217 times

so far this season without a single

    fumble. The Rams all-time leading

rusher has been responsible for only

13 lost fumbles in his illustrious Rams

career, in which he has logged 1,740carries and 306 receptions, a stagger-

ing average of one fumble for every 127.9 touches.

The Rams own a +3 turnover ratio on the season, which ties them at

12th in the NFL in the category. Their 12 total giveaways rank 4th

best in the NFC and 9th overall in the NFL. The lone turnover in their

current four-game stretch came in Week 7 at Tampa Bay, when

Bradford was hit while throwing in the first quarter.

    HANDLING WITH CARE

QB Sam Bradford and C Jason Brown

Three weeks ago, the Rams held the

Carolina Panthers to just 25 rushing

yards on 17 carries (1.5 avg.). It was

    the second-fewest rushing yards

allowed by the franchise since it relo-

cated to St. Louis in 1995 and the

fewest the Rams have given up since

Carolina gained 31 yards on the

    ground in a 2001 contest.

Week 8 was the fourth time this sea-son that the Rams have held an oppo-

nent under 100 yards rushing, and St.

Louis is 3-1 when the keep the oppos-

ing team under the century mark.

On the season, the Rams are giving up just 97.8 rushing yards per

game, which ranks sixth in the NFL. In 2009, St. Louis finished 27th

in the NFL, allowing 137.6 yards per game on the ground. The

Rams Week 11 opponent, the Atlanta Falcons, are slightly behind St.

Louis in run defense. The Falcons rank seventh in the NFL. The

Rams face a big test this week in Michael Turner and company.

In June, Rams S Oshiomogho O.J.Atogwe signed a long-term extension withthe Rams that will keep him in St. Louis forthe foreseeable future. Since becoming afull-time starter in 2006, Atogwe has 40combined forced fumbles and intercep-tions (20 forced fumbles, 20 interceptions),most in the NFL during that time.

Atogwe has 21 career interceptions and 20since the start of 2006. Atogwes 20 inter-ceptions are fifth most in the NFL duringthat time, trailing only Philadelphia CB Asante Samuel (34), GBay CB Charles Woodson (30), Baltimore S Ed Reed (27) Washingtons DeAngelo Hall (24).

one for the veteran leader of St. Louis defense. He leads the team

with 7.5 sacks on the year and has also recorded 33 tackles, includ-

ing two for loss. Hall is also tied for second in the NFL with four forced

    fumbles this season.

Last week at San Francisco, Hall was credited with a sack when he

hit Troy Smith and forced a fumble. In Week 8, he hit Carolinas Matt

DE Chris Long, the second overallpick in the 2008 NFL Draft, hasplayed a key role in a Rams defensethat is among the NFLs top 10 insacks, scoring defense and thirddown defense.

Last week in San Francisco, Longshared two sacks with LB JamesLaurinaitis, giving him 5.5 on the sea-son and setting a new single-season

career high. He has at least one sackin four straight games, and his cur-rent streak is the longest of his

    career.

Three weeks ago against San Diego, Long turned in his first two-sackperformance of the season and his second of his career. For hisefforts, Long was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Long has 5.0 sacks in the last four games, the most of any NFL play-er over that time span. On the season, he leads the Rams with 14quarterback hits and 13 pressures.

    LONG ON TALENT

The Rams defense has stood its ground when it counts this sea

as evidenced by the teams defensive statistics in the red zone.

On the season, St. Louis is tied for eighth in the NFL in red z

defense. Opponents have scored touchdowns on just 42.3 per

of their drives inside the St. Louis 20-yard line. During a four-ga

stretch from Weeks 2-5, the Rams held opponents without a tou

down on five consecutive trips to their red zone. That streak cam

an end in Week 5 at Detroit.

In all, the Rams have given up just 104 points on 27 possession

their opponents inside their 20. The 104 points allowed in the

zone is the fifth fewest in the NFL this season.

RED LIGHT IN THE RED ZONE

S Oshiomogho Atogwe and LB Larry Grant lead a charge to stop Darren McFadden at the goal

line. The Rams are among the leagues best in red zone defense this season.

DE Chris Long drops Philip Rivers.

    DANDY DANNY

WR Danny Amendola continues to have an impact on specteams, but hes become a big part of the offense as well.

Amendola leads the Rams with 52 receptions for 430 yards. Htied for seventh in the NFL and ranks fourth in the NFC in catchthis season.

In his first season on an NFL roster last season, Amendola cau43 passes for 326 yards in 14 games. Hes already surpassed bototals from a year ago and has added touchdowns in each of the lthree games.

In addition, Amendola is one of the leagues best on third down. 19 receptions on third down are tied for third most in the NFL.

WR/PR Danny Amendola has given the Rams a boost on offense and in the kicking game.

One of the biggest moves the Rams made this offseason was the

acquisition of veteran DT Fred Robbins, and the addition of the 11th

year pro has paid early dividents.

Robbins had a sack and three quarterback hits in the Rams Week 6

win over San Diego. Following the win, teammate Chris Long said

the inside push Robbins provided helped Long enjoy a two-sack day

as well and led to Long being named NFC Defensive Player of the

Week. Four weeks ago, Robbins recovered a fumble and had two

stops in a win over the Seahawks. In his Rams debut, Robbins

recorded three tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack.

The Rams rank sixth in the NFL in run defense and 12th in total yards

allowed, and Coach Steve Spagnuolo recently said that the acquisi-tion of key veterans such as Robbins and LB Nail Diggs has been a

    big factor in the improvement.

On the season, Robbins has 16 total tackles, including three for loss,

seven quarterback hits, two sack and four passes defensed.

Robbins came to the Rams after six seasons with the New York

Giants. During two of those seasons, current Rams Head Coach

Steve Spagnuolo was the Giants defensive coordinator. Its no coin-

cidence that those two campaigns were perhaps the best of Robbins

career as he tied his career high with 5.5 sacks in each of those sea-

sons and was a Pro Bowl Alternate in 2008. He played a key role in

New Yorks run to their Super Bowl XLII championship.

    WELCOME ABOARD

Rams DT Fred Robbins drops Seattle RB Justin Forsett for a loss. After joining St. Louis as a free

agent this spring, Robbins has made a big impact on a much-improved Rams defense this season.
