Let's start:old the center of the wire against the sharpie and wrap each wire end one time

around the sharpie. "t should look like this )abo%e*.

Twist the two wire ends together. " twist it by hands as the dead soft wire is easy to bend. You

can use the pliers if you feel hard by hands. 0nd... keep going to twist the wires around thecenter point. You need cross the two wires sometime while twisting to create a tree(dimensional rose.

2ea%e about half inch wire at each end. You can cut the wire short if it3s longer than you need.

4ow take the ring out from the sharpie and use the file to remo%e any sharp edges on the wireends. $un your finger gently around the end to see if it3s smooth enough.

5se the pliers wrap the wire ends on the side around the shank tightly. Try to hide the wire

ends under the rose possible. This pliers in the photo may mark your ring. ere " ha%e twooptions for you. You can use some taps wrap the tip of the pliers to minimie the marks. 6r,you can use a jewelry file and fine sanding papers to remo%e the marks. " would take the firstone because it3s easy and the second one need a lot work to do and you run a risk to get a lotnew marks if you don3t ha%e the right tools. 0ctually, most of us don3t mind some tiny marksaround this beautiful rose. 6ne of my customer told me it will make the rose look more realand uni7ue, she brought the ring at the summer market in $imini "taly.

without stitching any ruffles on it. Ao ahead and sew the opening shut and you areready to make some rosettes to place on your pillow.

Take yourfirst ruffle and fold it in half lengthwise with the stitching on one side, creating a Fshape with the ruffle. The stitching side is the part you will be gluing down.

You will startwith a dot of hot glue in the middle of your felt piece.

Arab the endof your first ruffle and kind of swirl it around the end to make the center of yourrosette. " like to put my finger through the middle of the ruffle >the F part? and

push the stitching part onto the glue.

6nce thecenter is adhered, make another short line of glue around the center part in thedirection of your ruffle. >did that make any sense at all9?You will just keep going around in a circle with your glue and your ruffle, pushingit into the glue to adhere it. >this is way easier to do than to explain=.promise?.

"f there is still any bit of felt on the back side that hasn;t been glued, now would bethe time to cut any of that extra off so you won;t be able to see it on the pillow.

To adhere therosettes to your pillow, simply lay them out in a design to your liking and hot glueeach one to the pillow. Make sure you get plenty of glue around the edges so theydon;t peel up. 4othin; worse than peeling rosettes on your pillow.

1irst off, " used my rotary cutter and cut the bottom hem off the t(shirt.

" measured my pillow insert and figured it was &BD s7uare so " cut my fabricexactly the same. 4ormally, you would want to add fabric for your seamallowance, but since the fabric is knit and " wanted it to be tight, " cut it to the samedimensions as the pillow. " also cut it so " left one of the side seams intact. 2ess tosew later.

Makesure you adjust the tension and stitch length back to normal before you stitch theruffles down. " used lots of pins to hold the ruffles in place while " stitched themdown to the front of the pillow co%er.

affinity has grown e%er more since the disco%ery of Miyuki beads. OPO These are extremelystandardised glass beads produced in @apan that come in many different finishes.

&. Measure out the bracelet length gi%ing plenty of excess. Cut out lengths in e%en numbersfor the desired width. The wider the bracelet the more to cut.

Cutting

Cut out all of the pieces from the $ose 8arrette Kattern. You will ha%e:

one rosebud strip in color 0

one &st tier petal piece in color 0

one nd tier petal piece in color 0

one barrette top in color 8

one barrette bottom )with a small slit cut as marked* in color 8

Making the Rosebud

$oll the rosebud strip tightly, lining up the straight edge, starting from the smaller end to forma little rosebud shape as shown abo%e.

Thread a length of embroidery thread that matches the color of the rose. Turn the rosebudupside down and sew across the bottom, through all of the layers, bisecting the circle of the

bottom. Kull this stitch taut and take another stitch through the same area.

Turn the rosebud N-(degrees and take another stitch through all the layers perpendicular to thefirst set of stitches.

Adding the Petals

Klace the finished rosebud in the center of the &st tier petal piece.

Tack the &st tier petal piece to the back of the rosebud with a few stitches.

The rose is now finished! These are beautiful on their own and could be attached to flowerwire for a pretty bou7uet or sewn to anything you please.

Preparing the Barrette

Meanwhile, sew the rose onto the wide end of the barrette top piece.

Finishing the Barrette

Klace the two barrette pieces wrong sides together and sew them to one another with a smallrunning stitch around the perimeter of the barrette. #hen you come to a petal sew through a

bit of the petal, not all the way through the width felt but just a little tack to keep the petaldown.

Continue sewing around the perimeter as shown abo%e.

6nce you get all the way around tie a little knot and hide the threads tail in between the twolayers.

Turn the barrette to the right side and trim the rose3s petals to your liking.
