Teehaus Stuttgart Located in the south of Stuttgart in the Weissenburg Park, the tea house is a nice place to escape the busy city and to enjoy the beautiful view over Stuttgart. It was built in 1913 by the archeologist and industrialist Ernst von Sieglin who gave this lovely little house to his wife for having tea-parties, but also used to gather with other archeologists in the marble hall below it. Today, there is still a little café in the tea house which is open during spring and summer time. How to get there: More information:

From the main station take U5, U6 or U7 to stop “Am Bopser”. From there, it is a 7 minutes’ walk uphill. www.teehaus-stuttgart.de

Our suggestion for today: Schloss Ludwigsburg

Built between 1704 and 1733 during the rule of Duke Eberhard Ludwig, the Residential

Palace is one of the greatest German baroque palaces still around today: it has got 452

rooms spread over 28 buildings. It is called the "Swabian Versailles" and used to be the

residence of the kings of Württemberg. Today, state receptions and cultural events are still

held in the palace theatre and in the assembly room of the Residential Palace. Stroll through

the building phases from the laying of the cornerstone up until today.

Our suggestion for today: Dip into the Past with Stuttgart’s Seilbahn

Stuttgart has two rarities in its public transport. The so called “Stadtseilbahn” in Heslach is a historical funicular railway and transports passengers from the “Südheimer Platz” to the “Waldfriedhof” since 1929. From the “Waldfriedhof” you can do the hiking path “Blaustrümpflerweg” which brings you to the U-Bahn stop “Marienplatz”. From there on you can change to the other rarity which is called “Zacke”. The “Zacke” runs between “Marienplatz” and “Degerloch”. The views both trams offer are spectacular!

Address:

Südheimer Platz, 70199 Stuttgart

Arrival by U-Bahn:

by U1 and U9 from “Charlottenplatz” to stop “Südheimer Platz” or from “Rotebühlplatz/Stadtmitte” by U34 to stop “Südheimer Platz“
