The Gourmet Weekend, held on a Friday and Saturday night, includes two five-course dinners (the menu is set but vegetarian options are available for those who require them) with different pre-selected wines served with each course, two nights accommodation and full English breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekends have a “House Party” feel to them. Guests are seated on large tables of eight or ten unless they specify otherwise. This dinner party style has resulted in many friendships being formed. This year we have teamed up with Koru Kayaking again to offer stunning guided kayak adventures direct from our own foreshore to Frenchman’s Creek.

The inspiration for Daphne du Maurier’s novel, Frenchman’s Creek is a peaceful inlet off the Helford Passage which offers a rich array of sights from the kayak. Launching direct from the foreshore heading out towards the Helford Passage passing sailing boats and the banks of an ancient oak forest.

There is an opportunity to swim in the soft waters of the creek.

Cornwall is without doubt one of the most beautiful counties in the United Kingdom from the dramatic coastline to the beautiful inland waterways and, in our opinion, the Helford River is one of the prettiest.

Three leisurely walks, of 7 miles each, on footpaths leading back to the Budock Vean Hotel. We will be immersed in a variety of habitats surrounding the Helford river. The three days of walking includes a walk on the stunning South West Coast Path plus the famous Frenchman’s Creek on the Helford River. We will also visit our favourite restaurants and galleries with walks over estuary, woodland and farmland.

There are many stories that make up the DNA of Cornwall. They are all best explored within the landscape and along the foot paths of Cornwall. We will reveal and explain these stories in our three days of walks.

For three days we will enjoy a slow 7 mile meander through the seascapes, woodlands, farmlands and tracks of the locality with paths from church to hamlet, across farmland and through the woods and estates of the Helford River and beyond.

The popularity of Phil Aston’s practical and down to earth approach to yoga has enabled him to expand his ‘Yoga at Work’ brand of teaching and take on a handpicked team of teachers.

Their range of individual teaching styles all complement Phil’s own method of teaching.

At the start of spring, Budock Vean has put together an exceptional Gardens of Cornwall break just for you. The Glorious Gardens break invites you to explore some of Cornwall’s hidden gems as well as some of the most famous gardens with expert guided tours.

Hugh Clark and Phil Thacker, who we are very proud to have at Budock Vean, will also be on hand with their own expert horticultural knowledge. They will take a guided tour through the grounds and discuss the importance of using the right techniques to maintain a healthy environment for flora and fauna to thrive.

Stand up paddle (SUP) boarding is probably the fastest growing water sport in the world. It is a real “can do” sport that is accessible to all ages and abilities, is easy to learn and gives you a real sense of achievement and well-being.

SUP is just that, standing up on a stable windsurf type board using a 6ft long paddle to cruise along the Helford River.

New for 2015 we have teamed up with JB Adventures to offer fun paddleboarding direct from our own foreshore. JB is an approved BSUPA (British stand up paddle boarding) school who offer fun and professional instruction.
