Missouri following residency.

Dress/Attire

Dress for the Winter Family Medicine Update is casual. Remember that meeting room temperatures and personal comfort zones vary widely. It is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.

Name Badges

We request that you wear your name badge to the conference sessions, exhibit hall and all other functions so staff knows you are properly registered.

Grievance Policy

All grievances should be in writing and specify the nature of the grievance. Initially, all grievances should be directed to the MSACOFP Convention Committee and the Executive Director. All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt. The MSACOFP will resolve the grievance, if possible. If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, they must then submit a complaint in writing to the Council on Continuing Medical Education, American Osteopathic Association, 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Outcomes Measurement Survey You will have a chance to gain an additional 2.5 credit hours of AOA Category 1-A CME by completing a post-seminar outcomes measurement survey. These credits are at no additional charge, but are only provided electronically. A sign-up form will be provided at registration. You will receive the survey by Email on or around February 9, 2018 and must be completed by February 26, 2018.

As a part of this event, the MSACOFP is sponsoring an exhibit hall showcasing vendors who provide services and products to family physicians. We encourage you to visit the exhibit hall during all dedicated hours to learn about new and innovative ideas to improve your practice. You will also have an opportunity to win prizes!

General Information

CME Attestation Procedures and Reporting

1. This program is eligible for 29 hours of Category 1-A AOA CME credits and 29 Prescribed Credits from the AAFP.

2. Attendees will complete and submit TWICE DAILY CME attestation cards. Your attestation is required in order to award proper CME credit. Without completed and signed attestation cards, NO CME credit will be awarded.

3. It will be the responsibility of the physician to honestly complete the attestation cards and turn them in each day.

4. The MSACOFP staff will compile the CME data and send each attendee a certificate and tally of hours attested to by February 15, 2018. Attendees will have one week to verify correctness. If incorrect, you must contact the MSACOFP at 573-634-4667 by March 1, 2018.

5. Your CME credits will be reported to the AOA by the CME Accredited Sponsor Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons no later than April 15, 2018.

Evaluations

Speaker evaluations and the overall conference evaluation are REQUIRED. You must complete the speaker evaluations found on the CME Attestation Card each day. In addition, the overall seminar evaluation is required. The overall conference evaluation is located on the back page of this booklet.

Our Speakers

Bridget Bransteitter, D.O.Midwest Infectious Diseases, Independence, MissouriDr. Bransteitter practices with Midwest Infectious Disease in Independence, Missouri. She earned her medical degree at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine with Oklahoma State University at Tulsa Regional Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She also completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases with the University of

Missouri in 2008. Dr. Bransteitter is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. Disclosure: Dr. Bransteitter has no actual or potential conflict of interest in relation to this program.

Jonathan Cleaver, D.O.Cleaver Dermatology, Kirksville, MissouriDr. Cleaver received his D.O. degree from ATSU-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did a traditional rotating internship at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, and then completed a Dermatology residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. Ian Fawks, D.O.CoxHealth, Springfield, Missouri Dr. Fawks is currently a hospitalist with Springfield Inpatient Physicians in Springfield, Missouri. He also has ICU privileges and supervises physician assistants. He received his D.O. degree from ATSU-KCOM. He is also a field surgeon with the Missouri Army National Guard where he holds the rank of Colonel and is the Commander of the Medical Detachment. Most recently, Dr.

Fawks was deployed to Qatar as battalion surgeon in 2017. Prior to his current position, he was a provider at Community Health Systems in a rural clinic in Northwestern Missouri. MSACOFP Convention and Education CommitteeThe Convention and Education Committee plans the program for the annual Winter Family Medicine Update. In the near future, the committee will be looking at other opportunities to provide quality CME to family physicians in Missouri. The committee meets 4 - 5 times per year, usually once a month beginning in March to start planning for the Winter Family Medicine Update. Meetings are held by conference call/webinar and no travel is required. Lend us your experience to continue the tradition of excellence in family medicine medical education. The term is three years.

The Congress of Delegates is the policy-making body of the ACOFP. This is where resolutions are submitted, debated, and approved, or not. If you plan to attend the convention and you are interested in being a Missouri Delegate, please contact Pam Cochran, Executive Director. The Society President selects the delegates, and you will be notified if you have been selected by February 15. All selected delegates will receive a $250 stipend for attending the Missouri Caucus meeting and both sessions of the Congress. Missouri is alloted 12 physician delegates.
