10AM

Gardens & Containers Perennials are perfect for adding beauty to gardens and containers. But are there some perennials that work better together than others? Are there some pairings that just naturally cause heads to turn? Join Deborah Trickett, owner of The Captured Garden, as she shares some of her favorite Power Couples—perennial combinations that will get your gardens and containers noticed. Speaker: Deborah Trickett, MCH, The Captured Garden

A Landscape Business That Works for You Owning and running a landscape business is tough. You put up collateral to get money to start, borrow more to stay in business, it’s seasonal, it’s hard to find and keep good help, and there’s really no book you can open to achieve sure-fire success. Customers are looking for your “why,” employees are looking for your wallet, and there’s hardly ever credit to be had at supply yards anymore. “A Business That Works for You” seems like a fantasy. I am here to tell you it’s not. It takes a shift in your perspective, a change of mind, and a plan. Speaker: Dan Pestretto, landscape business coach, SOD, Inc.

11:30AM Principles of Dry Stone Walls Dry stone walling is a craft that was brought to America from England. The styles, forms, building techniques and principles, all find their roots in the British Isles. Many of the walls, bridges, foundations, docks and other stone land forms that were constructed 150+ years ago, in New England, still stand today. Our tribute to these unique structures is the work we continue today in good practice. We will explore some of the regional forms that walls take, both as a function of available resources and personal preference, as we as we also explore what holds them together. Speaker: Chris Tracey, Avant Gardens, Inc.

11:30AM Digital Marketing as an Act of Service As a small business, digital marketing can feel overwhelming and often feels like you’re just spinning your wheels.
