In this era of technology, train to be a real-time court reporter in the court and deposition fi eld and related careers. Real-time court reporters can make in excess of $100,000 per year and only a state license is required, not a degree. For related careers, certifi cations are offered. A vocational training program based upon practical hands-on welding and classroom theory. The program is operated on an open-entry, open-exit basis, which allows students to begin training at any time space is available. A fee of $5.00 per child will be charged per day. Child Care is a service available only to children of Tri-Community Adult Education students. Students attending daytime classes at ANY location may take only preschool-aged children to the Child Care Centers at Pioneer Adult Education Center and Tri-Tech Academy. BEFORE A CHILD CAN ATTEND CHILD CARE, PROOF OF THE FOLLOWING IMMUNIZATIONS IS REQUIRED: DPT or DT, POLIO, RUBELLA, RUBEOLA, MUMPS, HEPATITIS B, HIB MENINGITIS and VARICELLA. Children must be at least 2 years of age, but not over 5 years of age. All children must be toilet trained. Child Care services shall not be available for children of parents on field trips.

A vocational training program based upon practical hands-on welding and classroom theory in all welding processes from basic to advanced techniques. The Welding Center is licensed to administer the practical examinations required by the Los Angeles Department of Building & Safety and in accordance to AWS D1.1. . L.A. PhASE II – Upon satisfactory completion of Phase I, the student will begin learning basic to advanced welding techniques with AWS A5.5 F4 welding filler rod. The student will learn control of weld stringer passes and puddle manipulation in all positions. Advance blueprint and weld symbol theory.

PhASE III – The student will prepare test plates in which the student will complete in both 3G & 4G positions. Successful completion of the test plates, student will receive a certificate of completion and data sheet and is qualified to take the L.A. City practical examination. This class will provide students with a blend of accounting principles and a detailed step-by-step instruction on how to format worksheets, use formulas and functions and create charts in Excel. In Part 1, students will concentrate on the accounting equation, recording journal entries, creating financial statements and work with formulas to create a statement of cash flows. The Personal Care Aide Program prepares students for entry level skills as a personal health care aide in either a home setting, convalescent facility, or for social services placement. Walk-in pre-registration will only take place at the Covina-Valley Tech-Academy and the Main Campus (formerly Pioneer Center). Classes begin Monday, November 4, 2019. Fee-based classes must have the required minimum number of student registrations as of the first class meeting. On-line and walk-in pre-registration is available for some classes. Registration is completed on a “first come, first served” basis. Late registrations are accepted if space is available. Adult students who are applying for the High School Diploma Program must bring an official (sealed) transcript and meet with a counselor at the Main Campus. Pre-enrollment for the High School Diploma Program is highly recommended.

ADMISSIoNTri-Community Adult Education may admit as regular students only persons who meet the age of compulsory attendance (18 years old in CA). Completion from high school with a diploma or its recognized equivalent, a High School Equivalent (HSE) is a requirement for enrollment in the fulltime welding program and the court reporting program only. Sealed, official transcripts must be provided to complete the registration process. Students must meet all the admissions requirements to be accepted for a specific program and start date. Upon enrollment, students are required to attend a New Student Orientation to familiarize themselves with the campus, as well as the school’s rules and regulations.

FEESFees for all classes will be charged as noted. All fees are payable at time of registration. Students pay for all supplies, materials, and textbooks. A service fee of $15 will be charged for returned checks, copies of certificates of completion, and letters of verification. There is an automatic processing fee for any change to classes. rEFUND & WIThDrAWAL PoLICyWe realize that outside circumstances may sometimes impact a student’s ability to complete the program of study. When a student stops attending all of his or her classes, depending on the circumstances, it may be classified as a “withdrawal,” or “dismissal” from the institution. CASAS TESTINGThe testing system used at Tri-Community Adult Education for Academic, Adult Secondary Education (ASE), Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English as a Second Language (ESL) is called Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS). CASAS certifies language and basic skills proficiency and promotes the transition to higher education and workforce. All students in these programs will be administered these tests upon admission.
