Winter 2013 Graduation Events Attendance Attendance is required at both rehearsal and commencement unless the graduate has notified the Registrar in writing that their degree will be received in absentia. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Caps and gowns Caps and gowns will be distributed at the Asbury Seminary Bookstore beginning Monday, November 18, 2013. The bookstore hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you indicated on your graduation application that you will be attending the ceremony, rental academic attire is required and was ordered for you based on the information supplied on your graduation application. The academic attire rental fee will be charged automatically to your student account. The cap, gown, and hood rental is $69.95 plus tax for all graduates. Following graduation, please return caps, gowns, and hoods to the Seminary bookstore before 5 p.m. To ensure proper record keeping, be certain your name is checked off the returned list before leaving. A $20 daily fee will be charged to your student account until the regalia is returned. If you have any questions, please contact the bookstore at 859.858.4242. Diplomas Actual diplomas will not be in your folders at commencement. When all grades are entered and records are cleared, degrees will be posted to transcripts and diplomas mailed. Please allow four to six weeks processing time from the end of the term in which you graduate. Please be sure to provide the Registrar’s Office with a current address. Grades Grades will be posted as soon as they are submitted and may be accessed through oneATS. Grades will not be released over the phone or by fax. Official transcripts can be requested by logging into oneATS and going to AIS>>Student (or Alumni)>>Order Official Transcript. Transcripts can also be requested in person at the Office of the Registrar on the Kentucky campus or at the reception desk on the Florida campus. Official transcripts may be requested in advance and held until degree is posted. Photographs Individual professional photographs will be taken of graduates while shaking hands with the President and receiving diploma covers. Proofs will be available on the photographer’s website. Further instructions will be given at rehearsal. Information Services Seminary graduates will automatically be transitioned to the Alumni version of oneATS and retain their Seminary email addresses. The ATLAS library database will continue to be offered as a resource for research needs. Dear Graduate,Congratulations are in order as you come to the conclusion of your ministry preparation at Asbury Theological Seminary. Much has occurred during your journey here. Friendships have been formed, spirits have been shaped, souls have been healed and minds have been enlightened. Our God has been faithful.

May the same rugged faith that brought you to and through seminary carry you higher and deeper into Christ’s heart and kingdom ministry. May the richness of your life in Christ overflow to those you are called to serve.

This brochure provides a schedule of events surrounding graduation. Please check the deadlines and RSVP dates for all events listed.

Friday, December 69:30 a.m. Commencement RehearsalRoyal Auditorium (M103)Graduates need to be robed and seated in Royal Auditorium (M103) by 9:25 a.m. Instructions begin promptly at 9:30 a.m., followed by a devotional time with the President and communion led by the Dean of the Chapel. Please arrange to leave any valuables with family and friends during the Commencement service.

10 a.m. Commencement ChildcareSherman Thomas Student Center/Childcare AreaChildcare reservations for December commencement must be made by Monday, Dec. 2. Childcare is limited to children age six (6) and younger. Email [email protected] with children’s names and ages. Children with reservations may be taken to Sherman Thomas Student Center/Childcare area at 10 a.m., and should be picked up by 12:30 p.m. (or immediately following ceremony).
