  2. 2. About Us: Wings To Fly The Foundation works to empower women by raising opportunities for employment and thus ensuring their monetary independence. Wings to Fly - The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, head office based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat (INDIA). Wings to Fly stands for Empowering Women, Next Generation Education, Health and also promotes sports. Wings to Fly -The Foundation was founded in the year 2011 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat with a singular thought to develop the next generation local area.

Opening Rehabilitation Centres for Ex-Bootlegger women and give them vocational training and job work Bootlegger project in collaboration with Ahmedabad City Police Health awareness programs. Self Defence programs. Help against domestic violence. Help widows through social welfare department. Help underprivileged women through providing vocational training and job work by establishing activity centres. Awareness to save girl child. Visits to different Senior citizen's home to make them feel better

He is having inborn passion to help people with a smile on face. He has more than 10 years of experience in leadership position with companies like CREATIVE INFOCITY LTD, ETECH INC, HINDUSTAN LEVER PVT LTD, DAESHAN TRADING INDIA PVT LTD. He has served as VICE PRESIDENT OPERATIONS in YUVA UNSTOPPABLE, an NGO mentored by National leaders e.g. Dr. Abdul Kalam. He is a personal Growth Educator, a Life Coach and also does motivational writing & quotes. He is a self-directed highly efficient person and have experience in Life Counseling, Societal Development Service, Education, Medical, New Business Startups, Telecom Operations, International Business, Marketing and Hospitality Industry. Founder & Chief Positive Guru at I-INSPIRE FOUNDATION and currently he is also the Deputy Chief (India) as Council for Media and Satellite Broadcasting.

  13. 13. Current Project Details BOOTLEGGER PROJECT HISTORY During the Mughal rule in the year 1527 to 1757 A.D. they lived in the forest region of Rajasthan. In the year 1857 A.D. they started travelling from one city to another city. During the British rule in 1871 A.D. the Criminal Tribes Act was implemented. Mainly 193 communities were listed. This community was one of them. In the year 1922 23 A.D. these people migrated to Ahmedabad from Rajasthan and settled near the Chandrabhaga bridge.
  14. 14. Current Project Details BOOTLEGGER PROJECT HISTORY Gandhiji and Ambalal Sarabhai used to visit this area. Gandhiji and others felt that these people are good means Sara. (In Gujarati language Good means Sara). They changed the name from Sara to Chara. This is how this community is named as Chara community. Their main activities are making home-made liquor, stealing small goods from the shops / road side stalls, chain snatching etc. Initially they lived in Ellisbridge area in Ahmedabad, by 1926 A.D. as the robbery activities increased, British government made a settlement plan. In this settlement plan Chara community people has to report to the police station 3 times in a day. If they are found in a new location without any prior notice, they were arrested and imprisoned.
  15. 15. Current Project Details BOOTLEGGER PROJECT HISTORY After Independence in 1947 A.D. they all settled in Kubernagar area in Ahmedabad. This area is also known as Charanagar. In the state of Gujarat Chara community people live in cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Sabarkantha, Panchmahal, Dahod Also they are situated in states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir
  16. 16. Current Project Details BOOTLEGGER PROJECT WHY THIS PROJECT? Maximum bootleggers are widows and there are no other sources of income to the family. Quality of home-made liquor is bad. They indulge in activities like robbery or chain snatching etc. They have been imprisonment for 6-10 months under PASA (Prevention of Anti Social Activities Act.) They were earning up to Rs. 300/- to 1500/- by selling home- made liquor. They are also sexually/mentally harassed by their clients. Their children are deprived of better education/ better job opportunities due to their (Chhara) community name & their liquor making activity.
  17. 17. Current Project Details BOOTLEGGER PROJECT OUR ACTIONS Counsel them and listen to their problems and understand their needs. Creating an alternative solutions to generate income by giving them vocational training like Meenakari, stitching, chocolate making, candle making, etc.) We have opened a rehabilitation training centre at Shahibaug as well as Kubernagar to give them training and provide job work. We are also planning to organize health awareness programs for these ladies.
