Emilio Clemente Wineries was born of the desire of the Clemente Lujan family to produce quality wines from its own vineyards situated on the Finca Caballero (2000 hectares, 74 of which are vineyards) at the natural surroundings of Cabriel, a true reflection of the Mediterranean countryside.

The winery, located in Requena in a valley of vineyards crossed by the River Magro, accommodates a modernist-style manor house dating from the end of the 19th century surrounded by a pinewood forest and vineyards.

In the second building, an annex to the house, the new manu-facturing plants were set up, designed according to a practical concept for better treatment of wine and applying the new te-chnologies to traditional know-how, thereby creating a designer winery combined with great human value, the Emilio Clemente Wineries team.

SHORT HISTORY OF

THE WINERY

Florante is a fusion of modernity (Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc) and tradition (Tardana). It is a white wine fermented in barrels, with blends of three grape varieties including Tardana, a local white vine variety from Utiel-Requena, a very rus-tic stock which is resistant to disease (mildew and root rot). When well matured FLO-RANTE provides us with an aromatic, ba-lanced dry wine with excellent acidity.

It is made using selected mature grapes, fermented in Bordelese ba-rrels especially designed and ma-nufactured for the fermentation of white wines. These are the fa-mous of the Allier and Never oaks with light brown, clear staves, in this way FLORANTE has achieved a smooth bouquet and an elegant harmony. Bottled in the first days of May. A white gold colour, clear, crystalline, with irridescent flickers. A fragrant aroma and the scent of crystallised fruit and a smooth, almondy taste. A soft, glycerinous texture. Its aftertaste is smooth and elegant, resulting in a scented, har-monious wine.

Premium Wine 2008 ( Category White Wine Oak Aged) selected by the DO Utiel-Requena to be represented in all promo-tional activities during this year.

OAK AGED PEÑAS NEGRAS is a red wine of 2004 vintage, made of the grape varieties Tem-pranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. These grapes belong to the parcels El Soto, El Horni-llo and El Cantorral, very near the River Cabriel which winds through the various parcels of the-se olive groves situated at our Caballero Estate.

Barrel-matured PEÑAS NEGRAS 2004 is a red wine matured for five mon-ths in new French oak barrels (Alliers and Nevers) from the oak groves in the centre of France. It is noted for its balanced sensation of freshness and maturity. It is a bright, cherry red co-lour and its aroma of fresh fruit, plums and forest fruits, blueberries and blac-kcurrants is finely balanced with the bouquet of noble soft wood, lending it a certain smoothness.

Its aftertaste is slightly buttery, redo-lent of vanilla and cinnamon, charac-teristic of the great wines.

Young PEÑAS NEGRAS is made from grapes from the vineyards of our Finca Caballero, si-tuated in the valley of Cabriel and enclosed by the mountains of Monterilla and the impressive Peñas Negras (from where this wine takes its name). This is the last estate before leaving the Valencia Region as it borders Cabriel and on the other side is Castilla-La Man-cha.

Young PEÑAS NEGRAS is made from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. It is a dark cherry red colour with a violet tinge to it and at first scent there seems to be a hint of liquorice, quickly blending with a sug-gestion of wild black fruit, pleasant to the palate with a smooth, fruity tan-nin and revealing an elegance which is unusual in young wines, being both tasty and balanced.

Mainly made from Tempranillo grape and partly Cabernet Sauvignon from the Finca Caballero situated in the natural park of Cabriel between

the Monterilla Mountains and the River Cabriel.

Endowed with a ruby red colour and brick-

red irridescence, interesting mineral aro-mas come to light, counterpointed by

a hint of smoke and dry flowers (sha-des of lavender) on a base of mature

fruit. To the palate it is full-bodied with lively acidity. Its aftertaste is

greatly reminiscent of fruit in liquor, a bouquet which re-

mains with great vitality.
