Joshua (2SF) made this rainbow over ten weeks ago. Since

lockdown it has been on his front window just to show love, thanks

prayers and support for all the NHS staff and care workers,

especially for his Auntie Michelle Gibbs who is a nurse and works

at City Hospital in ICU in Birmingham.

Auntie Michelle is Joshua’s super hero along with her work

colleagues who are putting their lives on the front line to fight

against Coronavirus around the world.

Bernie from 5E was sad

that she was not able to

attend the IBM robot

challenge.

During lockdown though

she has advanced her love

of coding by joining the

Lambeth Libraries Code

Club where she has been

understanding how games

and chatbots are made.

She has also practised building

and coding a small robot at

home.

It can spin around and dance to

disco music.

Sadly, there is still some way to

go before it can automatically

complete homework!

Can we use colours instead of

symbols?

We can try this with digits, the

symbols we use for

numbers. Instead of digits 0, 1, 2 etc.

we have some calculations with only

colours that will test your

understanding of arithmetical

techniques.

See if you can figure out ways to

make the calculation work.
